13 of the Most Hilarious BYU Police Beats Mormon

You canā€™t deny that BYU is an interesting place with interesting people. Provo is full of ā€œnot your averageā€ college students, and when some of these ā€œnot your averageā€ college students have a run in with the law, it can be a little funny. Some of these hilarious incidents are documented in The Daily Universeā€˜s Police Beat section, where you can find weekly BYU police reports. Here are some gems that could only happen at someplace like BYU:

1. ā€œDonā€™t mind me. Iā€™m just borrowing this duck.ā€

Two male students were reported trying to capture a duck using a plastic laundry basket at the botany pond at the base of Maeser Hill. The students admitted to trying to catch the duck but said they werenā€™t stealing the duck, just borrowing it to put it in one of their friendā€™s rooms as a joke.

2. A good reason to always know what day it isā€¦

Yzma saying, You should have thought of that before you trespassed. Mormon

BYU police discovered several students from NewsNet trespassing in the Deseret Towers demolition site. The student said they had heard U Hall was going to be blown up and were waiting to witness it. When the officer asked them to tell him the date the students realized they were the victims of an April Foolā€™s Day prank.

3. What do you get when three bored freshmen walk onto an empty field?

Three freshmen were apprehended and issued misdemeanor citations after police observed them detonating a dry-ice bomb on the Deseret Towers field.

4. Well, that escalated quickly.

An assault was reported in R Hall of Deseret Towers. One male student threw a bug on another male student who retaliated by spraying shaving cream on the male that threw the bug. Shaving cream got in the eyes of the first student and the argument quickly escalated and became a physical confrontation.

5. When your serenading plans go wrongā€¦

Kip singing Always and forever... Mormon

An individual reported male students singing to female students outside of Hinckley Hall in Helaman Halls. The males were advised to leave due to complaints.

6. Watch out for those mannequins, man.

A student reported a suspicious individual with long gray hair and a beard inside a restricted lab in the Clyde building. Upon arrival, the officer found a mannequin in the reported location.

7. What is it with BYU and ducks?

Duck Season, Rabbit Season Mormon

BYU police received a call reporting a male dressed in a bright yellow suit looking for duck eggs near the duck pond. When police arrived as the scene the man was nowhere to be found.

8. ā€œSorry, Sir. Itā€™s FHE night.ā€

A male was walking near a bike rack north of the JKB. An officer flashed his lights on the young man, and the man began to run away. Once a police officer talked to his four friends, it turned out they were playing sardines and the man was afraid he was in the area too late. No names were taken.

9. In an unfortunate turn of eventsā€¦

A bicycle was reported stolen from a bike rack near the Wilkinson Center. The owner had gone into the bookstore to purchase a lock for the bike. When he returned, the bike was gone.

10. ā€œItā€™s gonna take a lot to drag me away from youā€¦ā€

An individual held a sign offering free hugs in the Harold B. Lee Library. When asked by an officer to leave, he declined to leave the area and continued offering free hugs.

11. Those darn college kids.

giphy.gif

A BYU employee was driving down the hill near the Tanner Building when his vehicle was hit by a water balloon. He thought the balloon came from the direction of the Tanner Building or Helaman Halls. There are no suspects.

12. Just a California boy living in a Utah world.

A man was reported to University Police after he threw snowballs at a student leaving the library. When confronted, the suspect explained he was from California and was excited because he hadnā€™t been in snow before. He apologized and stopped when police explained to him it is inappropriate to throw snowballs at random citizens.

13. Seriously, whatā€™s up with the ducks? Someone tell me.

Officers responded when they received a call that an adult duck was placed in a female dorm in Helaman Halls. The officers captured the frightened duck and returned it to the duck pond.

Moron....when state level democrats are releasing violent criminals......

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Less than two weeks after the state announced it would increase early release credits for 76 thousand inmates, 41 of California's 58 district attorneys are challenging the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

"We're talking about the most violent offenders that are now subject to early release that goes against everything that the state of California's been put into," says Tulare County DA Tim Ward.

The CDCR's adoption of new regulations means more than 63,000 inmates convicted of violent crimes will be eligible for good behavior credits that shorten their sentences by one-third, instead of the one-fifth that had been in place since 2017.

Yeah....the state of California releasing 63,000 criminals has nothing to do with increasing crime rates in Fresno...

The republican states attorney in Fresno signed the petition to stop the democrats from releasing the 63,000 violent criminals, you dumb ass...

"If you take a look at the city, county and state, you'll see the effects of releasing those inmates, which is continued crime by the same people who have been released over and over," says Smittcamp.

You are an idiot...

Crime and murders are going up in every Republican-controlled city. It really is disgraceful how these Republican mayors can't keep their cities safe.

Homicide rate is rising quickly in Mesa

This is your 5th one you stupid fucking idiot......LOLOL....GD

It was suspected that Fuck Joe Biden was sending bus loads of criminal invaders to republican cities. It looks like you proved it.

False. And even if true why are Republican mayors not stopping it?

Letā€™s put an end to to this little masturbation session youā€™ve got going on here. You list all the cities you want, add the stats up and Iā€™ll just post Chicagos by itself.

And more....

Hemet Police Department Chief Eddie Pust said Wednesday hardened criminals will be paroled early under Gov. Gavin Newsom's coronavirus emergency releases and crime will rise in the city and elsewhere as a result.

"Communities throughout California were told that decompression measures are taking place in the California prison system to provide health and safety to the incarcerated population,'' Pust said in a public statement.

"This is after many changes have been made in the past few years in California's criminal justice system, where thousands of offenders were released whose crimes were considered non-violent.''

"Now the more serious offenders are being released due to the health and safety of the current prison population,'' he said. "The impacts to the communities and the public will change significantly, and California communities will see a significant increase in crime.''

Yep....thanks Tipsycat.......I found this...

More than 70 flights transporting migrants from the southern border to Jacksonville have landed in the dark of night in recent months as the Biden administration struggles to empty overflowing border facilities, the office of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said.

It is the first time the state of Florida has disclosed the number of confirmed flights arriving in the state since the summer. The governor's office has scrambled in recent weeks to uncover who is facilitating the mystery flights landing in northern Florida daily, but the Biden administration has refused to disclose any information, one official said.

"Over 70 air charter flights [on] jetliner airliners coming from the southwest border have landed at Jacksonville International Airport," said Larry Keefe, DeSantis's public safety czar. "On average, there's 36 passengers on each of these flights. And that has been going on over the course of the summer through September."
