Self righteous libs have no problem excoriating their own. Hell, they openly bash poor old Bill now and accuse him of being senile after he brought them their version of camelot in the 90's. They'll do the same to Obama in a few years if he somehow manages to win the presidency.
The extreme left will turn even on their own. That's right geniuses, go ahead and split your party in half.
Larkinn has answered but I feel we need to say this over and and over again as the Right does not understand the difference between liberals and conservatives. Conservatism today is a sect and not a party, say something that differs from the party line and you are ostracized. Notice how McSame has changed all his positions to fit the ideology. Liberalism is a means and as such we can argue and disagree, conservatism is a doctrine and if you don't believe in its core doctrines out you go. It is why it has failed so badly under Bush.
I would argue that liberalism of the 1700's was a mean. Today, one could argue that liberalism is progressing into socialism.

hmmmm....
I would prefer socialism to the more ideological conservative fascism/communism.
Why would you prefer govt to make you happy when they are completely inefficient?

Neither comment is relevant to socialism. Socialism is another ISM that is an idea rather than a thing. Odd but this definition from Yahoo Answers is pretty good.

You do realize that fascism and communism used in a sentence to describe each as conservative is completely contradictory. If you are going to comment on political ideology then at least know what the hell the definition of each is.
I disagree, I know well what they are about and conservatism today is closer to both than in the past. Conservatism is a sect today. Just a little hyperbole but given your lack of debate and a few doctrinaire items the comparison is fair.
yet all those definitions were cited from wikipedia. Though they are essentially correct, please explain how communism is more consevative than socialism. Also, please explain, per your previous post, how communism could be facism.
