AMericans need to wake up and realize the federal govt can't do anything right. No more federal laws on guns or anything! Return to states rights like when america was founded.

Harry Reid?s Gun Control: Lose Your Gun, Get 5 Years In Prison

April 9th, 2013

You read that right. Under Harry Reid’s sweeping gun control bill, S.649 – Safe Schools and Safe Communities Act of 2013, anyone who loses or misplaces their firearm are subject to prison time. In fact, one could face up to five years in prison for failure to report such a loss within 24 hours under this legislation.
According to Section 123 of the bill:

“It shall be unlawful for any person who lawfully possesses or owns a firearm that has been shipped or transported in, or has been possessed in or affecting, interstate or foreign commerce, to fail to report the theft or loss of the firearm, within 24 hours after the person discovers the theft or loss, to the Attorney General and to the appropriate local authorities.”

Of all the things in that bill, that is what they chose to focus on?

There's much more in the bill than that. Much more.

HAHAHA. What kind of argument is that.? Because there's some good stuff in the bill, we must accept the bad stuff!!!! Libulals are so dumb.

This gun legislation isn't going to make our schools any safer, not that it's intended to. I think we all know at this point that it's about gun control. Period.

And gun control is really about people control.

If you own a gun, you or a member of your family is seven times more likely to die of gun violence. Why? Because a gun in the house is much more likely to be used by an angry spouse or depressed teenager to kill themselves or others, than it is to be used for self defense.

Nancy Lanza found this out when her son killed her and two dozen school children in Newtown.

So now conservatives are opposed to personal responsibility – you guys need to make up your minds.

Are you incapable of thought or are you merely unwilling to think?

Both.

The bill does what it was designed to do: punish law abiding gun owners for made up infractions. So much for negotiating with the Dems. Joe Manchin, are you listening yet? Get your resume printed, pronto.

Mainly because it's not true.
It's like saying people in homes with electricity are more likely to be electrocuted.

Actually that is not true, go ahead link to the study.

So?
The majority of fatal car accidents happen within a mile from one's own home.
Most serious injuries happen within the home.

Obviously we need to ban HOMES
:cuckoo:

Keeping a gun in my home is my risk.
My government has no say on what risks I'm allowed to take.

I'd rather have one and not need it than not have one and need it

That's the exact narrative that they'd have you believe, check out this provision of the NDAA

Nothing in the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note) or the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (Public Law 112-81) shall be construed to deny the availability of the writ of habeas corpus or to deny any Constitutional rights in a court ordained or established by or under Article III of the Constitution to any person inside the United States who would be entitled to the availability of such writ or to such rights in the absence of such laws.

Looks good right?

Oh wait what?
court ordained or established by or under Article III of the Constitution

In other words it doesn't apply to Article I or Article II Courts.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_Article_II_courts_and_Article_III_courts

Any other word/phrase we should be aware of?
to any person inside the United States who would be entitled to the availability
Oh, so there exists circumstances when we are not entitled to the availability of this writ even under Article III Jurisdiction? Oh right, when the Article III courts declare they are not under Common Law or Equity Jurisdiction, in other words Statutory/Maritime/Admiralty Jurisdictions, which makes up 99% of their jurisdiction claims.

And if you're attacked by someone with a gun your chances of surviving are 86,000 times greater if you have a gun than if you're armed with a fork.
