If the state of NY wanted it to be a requirement to opened on Sunday they should have never awarded the contract to Chick-Fil-A. They have almost an 80 year record of being closed on Sunday. It is not exactly an unknown fact about them.

However, what we do know is that they were awarded the contract knowing operating hours and now the government shitheads are trying to change the terms after Chick-Fil-A put up the capital to build the facilities.

Chick-Fil-A is one of the most successful fast food operations in the US and they are not going to change their long established operating hours just to accommodate a few travelers. I suspect they will tell the government assholes to shove it if that becomes a contractual requirement.

It would depend on the contract for services they signed. Not a religious issue. This makes sense the throughway doesn't shut down on Sundays , the services still need to be available. If they cannot meet that request , they need to vacate the premises and allow someone in that will be obliging.
