Do you think police are allowing the murder rate to increase?

What do you think is causing the increase in the murder rate?

Is it that the police are taking a "hands off" approach when it comes to crime?

The theory is the "defund the police" made the police angry so the police are now dragging their feet when it comes to suppressing crime. Sort of a "malicious compliance?"

Or is it something else?

Guns are getting blamed, of course, but we've always had guns.

It's Black people with guns. They act like animals.

Doesn't make much sense.. Police are rarely around to witness a murder.

Why wouldn't the police take a hands off approach to African American criminals? They don't want to be Eric Chauvin's cellie, which is where they are heading if they rough up a black male- America's official Sacred Cow.

I'm sure cops in Calcutta let the local cattle do what they please as well.

After all, Black Lives Matter- especially young black predator lives.

All the police would have to do is take a hands-off approach.

Don't patrol certain neighborhoods, for example. If you see people fighting, don't intervene.

People told the police, "you're being too tough with blacks." The police said "fine, we'll steer clear of blacks."

And now the murder rate is soaring.

Do you think this is a possibility?

Sure, but what's the problem?

If black people don't want to have ugly confrontations with the police and will raise hell, the police will naturally stand clear. Particularly when they don't have any backing from the politicians.

Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Either policed communities accept active policing of themselves, or they accept higher violent crime.

The broken window theory once again, proves true.

Negroids, and Hispanics create low trust cultures.

Whites and East Asians create high trust cultures.

Blacks and Hispanics lack the self control required to enable, create, or perpetuate high trust societies.

This is why as the population demographics change (darker) we see the exact same scenario repeat itself.

IQ...IQ...IQ

There are gradations of humanity.

All the problems you point to are due to poverty.

Stop being so racist.

Police aren't taking a hands off approach. District attorneys are taking a hands off approach.

In order to patrol certain neighborhoods they can then be accused of profiling, cops have been told in so many ways they are the bad guy, so yes I would imagine SOME of them are pulling back or being much more careful about how they respond.
It doesnt help the crime stats when DA's are not prosecuting cases and criminals are being let out without bail... or just let out of jail at a much higher rate now. I would imagine some of these people let out without bail are also going after witnesses who helped put them away and some criminals are simply going to be more emboldened once they figure out they can get away with a lot more. Then they are going to commit crimes at a higher rate which increases chances of deadly situations.

You just keep outdoing the idiocy with each thread.

When you defund the police increased crime is the result.

Police are quite wisely stopping "proactive policing" they don't go looking for trouble anymore. It's understandable. if the public doesn't want to support them, they will do the least they can get away with. Slow roll on calls, so the violence will be over when they arrive, don't dig for suspects, only solve crimes when the solution falls into their laps. Don't take chances that can get them sued or disciplined.
Follow the rules to the letter even when they get in the way of doing the job properly. Get stopped by a citizen trying to report a crime in progress, say "sorry, you'll have to call 911 on that". Sooner or later even liberals will realize that supporting the police is in their best interests rather than allowing criminals to run riot and making excuses for criminals isn't in society's best interests.
Police need to follow the law as well as everyone else, but crucifying a cop for an iffy judgement call, or a mistake isn't good policy.
