Smoke particles are a lot thicker and heavier than viruses. You can tell what smoke looks like, because if you live in the northeast you've been seeing the layer of soot on your cars and sidewalks.

Don't let this become a political issue. Stick with the actual science. Smoke from wildfires is dense, the particles are larger than 92 nm. If you have asthma or COPD, a mask will help.
