Why would the president step into such a quagmire by inviting the father of a deserter to the White House to celebrate his release after the worst deal in US history? The only logical answer is that Obama isn't like us. He doesn't understand the concepts Americans and legal aliens accept and love about the US. He doesn't understand "duty-honor'country" because the concept isn't in his life experience. Obama is the product of a hippie mother and a bigamist alcoholic father. His mother died when he was young and he was motivated (by his own admission) by the "dreams of his father" but his father was a radical left wing African who hated America. No wonder he was surprised about the outrage about Bergdahl. He didn't understand.

The left is attacking anyone who is critical of the prisoner swap Obama made without saying a word to Congress. All of the critics from Bergdahls unit are being accused of Swiftboating him. The left seems to feel that being a deserter and a coward, turning your back on your country is a courageous act.

Is this really the way they think?

Obama seems to go out of his way to piss Americans off. I believe he knows the way liberals think and he takes advantage of it. Everything he does seems to backfire and turn into a major debate on what is right and what is wrong. It seems like he's constantly redefining what is good about this country and what is bad. Being a Christian is bad. Being white is bad. Being a family man is bad. Getting married with someone of the opposite sex is bad. Making money is bad. Being independent is bad. Making your own way in life is bad.

This guy is really screwed up, and it shows.

It's no small wonder that he chose a deserter to single out for a prisoner swap. He believes the deserter is a hero. He treated his family like their son was a warrior for good. Instead, their son turned out to be a terrorist collaborator. If this is what Obama feels is a hero, then what does this say about Obama.

When Republicans cut food stamps for disabled veterans, keep first responders from health care for 10 years and help companies move jobs to China and help to close down more than 40,000 factories and then engage in voter suppression and try to bring down the president, then they have turned their backs on America. Letting Bin Laden go was bad enough, but trying to take credit for taking Bin Laden out was despicable. But it only highlights the depths to which Republicans have fallen.

If everything you said were true it would not diminish the insanity of what Obama did. What Obama did was one of the most stupid and irresponsible acts ever committed by a Commander In Chief. I don't play partisan politics. Every Republican who supported the Bergdahl for dangerous terrorists swap is just as stupid and irresponsible as Obama.

Obama just doesn't seem to get it. He attempted to defend himself by claiming Bush released 500 POWs and he released just 5. Obama didn't understand that Bush did it right. Bush carefully screened each POW to make sure their release would not pose a national security risk. Obama, on the other hand, released 5 looney tunes that the whole world knew were dangerous to the US and the rest of the world, especially the Shiites. Bush may not have been the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but when it comes to prisoner releases he is obviously a hell of a lot smarter than Obama.

Obama – and all those Republicans and Democrats who supported him – screwed up twice: First by releasing the Taliban fab five and second by trying to portray a deserter as some kind of hero. These jerks emboldened the terrorists and demoralized the US military. Hell, the average 12-year old could have seen that coming. Great job Obama. Oh, well, what could we expect from someone who never served and who pronounced corpsman as corpseman; a man who thought there were 58 states in the USA (he had already been to 57 and had one more to go) and who thought Europe was a country; a man so delusional he thought he was in Asia when he was in Hawaii.

Since we all swore to serve and protect the Constitution, I think maybe all of us who are retirees or disabled veterans, all of us with government $$$, should have to sign a sworn statement that we follow the federal law or give up our government money.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but once your enlistment ends you still fall under UCMJ for a limited time.

They can take your pension away if they want to, but once you become a civilian, many of your rights return. One of them is the right to question the insane decisions of a renegade president.
