Those meetings were also used to justify getting a FISA warrant to spy on on the Trumps. It was an attempt at entrapment. Yes, Preet’s NYC office was where the settlement took place, but all of this is under the DOJ and the FBI had to be involved because of the money-laundering aspect and the FISA warrant.
