Don Shula, legendary NFL head coach, dies at 90

R.I.P. Don

You were a great coach and did more for the NFL than just about anyone.

Kick, Zonka, Morris, Warfield.......loved to watch them play.

Key to Shula’s perfect season, an easy schedule

They did not face a playoff team in the regular season and only two teams had winning records

Yet there is a dirty little secret behind the perfection: The '72 Dolphins played one of the easiest regular-season schedules in the postwar history of the NFL.

Miami played only two teams that finished with winning records and none that went to the playoffs. Analyst Eddie Epstein, in his book "Dominance," rates the schedule of the '72 Dolphins as the NFL's seventh easiest between 1950 and 2001.
