Considering a blue wave and a repudiation of Trump was predicted, the fact that this represents the 53rd seat in the Senate (and another gain) for Republicans it is significant.

Considering a blue wave and a repudiation of Trump was predicted, the fact that this represents the 53rd seat in the Senate (and another gain) for Republicans it is significant.

Not really considering the huge disparity in seats up for election between the two parties.

They gained two senate seats, lost 38 with 3 to still undecided, 7 governorships, and 6 state legislatures.

Considering the beating the Dems had taken over the previous 8 years, that was a pretty decent turn around.
