Edward Snowden papers reveal 38 targets including EU, France and Italy

US intelligence services are spying on the European Union mission in New York and its embassy in Washington, according to the latest top secret US National Security Agency documents leaked by the whistleblower Edward Snowden.

One document lists 38 embassies and missions, describing them as "targets". It details an extraordinary range of spying methods used against each target, from bugs implanted in electronic communications gear to taps into cables to the collection of transmissions with specialised antennae.

Snowden may have embarrassed the US government with its allies, but does the release of such information actually compromise the safety of the nation?

Remember that Snowden is one man who is being opposed by the combined efforts of the US government, that is totally committed to do whatever it takes, legally and otherwise, to discredit him in the eyes of the world.

Let's not forget that the American government has the resources available to convince much of the world that Mother Theresa was an "axe murderer" - if it so wished!

Wrong. Snowden has done some real damage to Obama's image. The Real Damage that Obama could of never imagined getting caught at.

Snowden keeps kicking Obama in the teeth while Obama depends on Lahota for damage control. ha! ha! If that is the best he's got I can understand why the rumors are out now that they have resorted to threats of murdering Snowdens family members if he doesn't return.

If Snowden returns it is because he knows his family is in imminent danger ( like Hastings family would have been if he had successfully escaped ) and he is trying to save their lives just as he was trying to save American lives by informing them about what the US Govt is doing behind the backs of the American people. Once a hero? ALWAYS A HERO.

Snowden didnt do it for money, he is not a traitor, just a guy with a conscience. To bad the tea party was not like him and really did something when they went to Washington D.C. in 2010 but they towed the Republican line.
