It's a southern thing, and though I am not southern I have lived in the south, and it is addicting.

You can't eat it all the time or you will look like the Michelin man, as most of the south does, but it is tasty stuff.

I’ve been to the South, and will never forget my first sight of grits. The New York chef came out of the kitchen, and converted me to oatmeal.

I agree. I like 'Yankee grits' with butter and sugar. That's the only way I can eat them.

Well that's what the southerners call it when we eat grits like any hot breakfast cereal. They eat them with salt/pepper/gravy.
