That isn't happening. It is simply you being hypersensitive to others discussing race in a manner that makes you uncomfortable.

You may not be an admitted racist. But you certainly do struggle with the subject. I suspect that part of your problem is that you realize that a lot of people who feel like you do about other issues ( size of government, taxes ) are out of control racists. You don't want to be lumped together with them....but you don't want to kick them out of your tent either.

Something else.......I have a gift for imitating speech patterns and accents. I do a pretty good Indian accent, a great "old Jewish guy", and a decent....although obvious....Ebonics dialect. Having lived in Japan for a decade and having a Japanese wife, I do a great Japlish.

I've never....not once....had an issue with being called racist or bigoted after having fun with these accents. Why do you think that is?

Depends on how bad a lawyer you have. I've seen plenty of people go away on a first offense.

For a non-violent offense...rarely. Now, if someone is a major drug dealer and got caught with a lot of dope...that is a different story. But for a white person to go to prison for one time felony...NOT LIKELY - bad lawyer or not.
