Yes and if you commit arson that threatens the life of any person you can lawfully be shot in the attempt.

There is also a presumption under the law that a structure is occupied if you set it on fire.

It's like here in Texas if someone is trespassing at night on your property there is a presumption under the law that allows for the use of deadly force in many circumstances.

If I see someone trying to burn a building I believe to be occupied I have a legal right to use deadly force to stop them.

You can use deadly force in most states to stop any forcible felony or in any circumstance one would reasonable believe that the actors actions threaten grave bodily harm or death.

A hell of a lot of firefighters get severely injured or killed fighting structure fires so a "reasonable person" in most states is going to have a whole lot of leeway in such circumstances in deciding whether or not to use deadly force.
