Nope--at that point in time no one was going to hand over any information to James Comey, after what he did to Hillary Clinton. Steele didn't trust Comey--because Steele had been sending him some of the information, and Comey never reacted to it, so he delivered it to John McCain instead.

James Comey was an incompetent FBI Director--he had knowledge of all of this since 2015, and never reacted to any of it. I think he was a show boat, loved the media lights & planned on taking Hillary Clinton down first and then moving toward taking down Trump (after he got elected.) Which is why he is also under investigation for his interfence into this election.
