He requested it BEFORE Garland gave it to him and was denied! Garland only gave it to him when he did because pressure to appoint a Special Prosecutor had gotten too strong to ignore! Garland giving Weiss the appointment now means that Weiss can refuse to answer questions put to him by Congress because he's in charge of an "ongoing investigation"! Why else would any competent AG appoint someone as a Special Counsel that has zero credibility after letting the stature of limitations run out on years of tax evasion by Hunter Biden and attempting to give him a sweetheart plea deal that would have shielded him from future charges?

Weiss isn't going to investigate anything. He's simply there for window dressing while Garland stonewalls any real investigation into the Bidens!
