The most important strategic consequence of Th. night’s attack was the message that it sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was seated at dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago while the Tomahawks were flying. Trump let the Chinese know that he is capable of taking pre-emptive military action and that he keeps his word. If China does not reel in North Korea, in other words, Trump will follow through on his commitment to go to war there.

Many feel that Trump's 'western' logic doesn't take into consideration that Xi Jinping was undoubtedly embarrassed, angered and otherwise put into the role of an unwitting circus prop in Trumps orchestrated evening at Mar-a-Lago.... I suspect Donnie does not want to trigger a shooting war between N.Korea and S.Korea.

Therefore he is in no hurry to strike N.Korea with missiles, although doing so is probably inevitable.

Like all other stupid things that the S.Koreans have done is failed to move their capitol further south to Pusan. Now Seoul is in easy arty range of N.Korea.

So N.Korea can hold Seoul hostage.

Therefore Seoul is inevitably going to pay.

Donnie will give Xi one more chance to tell Kim Jong Ooon to cut out the crap -- nuke detonations and missile tests.

Afterwards Trump will surely strike N.Korean missile sites and nuclear research and production facilities. The CIA is probably already making a target list of these.

Taking out missile sites is great and all but that means fundamentally changing the fabric of the Korean peninsula as S Korea, if not others, would inevitably make a move on the North.

Simply taking Kim out would preserve all the military infrastructure (not ideal) but with a new successor to Kim.. it would be hard not to do better than the 'devil we already know'...

There were 6 other airbases of higher value that could have been targeted all or in part... damage etc. is NOT the issue here...
