Fast & Furious isn't going away

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

So you think guns should be treated differently than cars?

More strictly?

Well, actually, I do, and I get into terrible arguments with other right wingers.

Gun Control is one of the debates where the inmates have completely taken over the asylum.

Most people don't want criminals to get guns. Or insane people. Or really, idiots who want to overthrow the government.

But you have a very vocal minority that sees EVERY suggested gun law as an affront to their liberty.

Probably because the people who push them have made no secret of their desire to confiscate all guns if given their druthers.

So all us sensible people in the middle who think law abiding gun owners should be like law abiding drivers are caught between these two extremes.

This has nothing to do with the fact that some political operatives in the White House insisted on this terrible operation to create a crisis by dumping guns into the fire, and then using that to further an anti-gun agenda. It's like a fire insurance salesman burning down a house in order to sell you fire insurance.

People should lose their jobs over this. People named "Barack" and "Eric".

Really now?

Do you ever get tired of being wrong all the fucking time?

I don't know, do you ever get tired of being clinically retarded.

No one was responsible for that woman's death but the dirtbag who hit her. So fry the fucker.

The Obama Administration was trying to prove the president wasn't lying, so they dumped a shitload of guns into Mexico, and now we are getting hit back with them.

That ought to be impeachable.

Hooboy...using that very same logic..no one was responsible for that officer's death except the dirtbag that shot him.

You're really out of your league here.

And the President had nothing to do with this "program". And it's a program no different then the ones I've put up for you. Yet this is the only one you find fault with..

Wonder why? :eusa_whistle:

There's a HUGE difference between this "program" and others Sallow. In this one there was no attempt to follow the weapons at all. They were simply allowed to disappear into the wind. In other words there was zero effort made to maintain a chain of custody (evidence) or a trail of who transported the weapons from one area to another. None. Those are ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF ANY CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION.

There is no way that a case could have been brought to ANY COURT in this country. Judges would have laughed any "evidence" out of court because there was no effort to gather and protect evidence.

The smell of coverup by the drones here is stifling.

I would say shame butt they dont have any.

According to theses dolts logic because someone committed a crime its ok for them too.

Since that is their logic i wont bother even conversing with them,

they are humans without merit and not worth one second of thought.

(Here's a little more background and e-mail detail:)

"Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News reports that a coverup kicked in within hours of Brian Terry’s murder:

In a letter, Grassley and Issa say the lead prosecutor on Fast and Furious, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emory Hurley, learned almost immediately that guns allowed onto the street in his case, had been recovered at Terry’s murder. “(I)n the hours after Agent Terry’s death,” says the letter from Grassley and Issa, Hurley apparently “contemplated the connection between the two cases and sought to prevent the connection from being disclosed.” The Justice Department recently transferred Hurley out of the criminal division into the civil division.

An internal ATF email dated the day after Terry’s death reveals the quick decision to not disclose the source of the weapons found at the murder scene: “… this way we do not divulge our current case (Fast and Furious) or the Border Patrol shooting case.”

Another ATF email indicates that the justification both offices used to not charge the suspect with crimes related to the murder scene “was to not ‘complicate’ the FBI’s investigation.”

ATF whistleblowers revealed the link between the two cases to Congressional investigators and CBS News, saying their supervisors were attempting to cover it up.

Citing the documents in their possession suggesting the conspiracy, Rep. Issa and Sen. Grassley demanded that the new U.S. attorney for Arizona, Ann Scheel, provide documentation — including emails, memos, and even handwritten notes from members of the U.S. Attorney’s Office — that may relate to the coverup. They also stated that they wanted to hear testimony from three more Justice Department officials: Assistant U.S. Attorneys Emory Hurley and Michael Morrissey, and Patrick Cunningham, chief of the DOJ Criminal Division."

(Somebody higher up in the administration is going to have to walk the plank, sooner or later. How are they going to explain this degree of lawlessness or buffoonery running rampant, if not. Bye-Bye Eric, bye, bye. Say hello to Osama when you float by.)

I hope that Issa and Grassley are not intimidated to let this go. If it is true, that Obama not only knew about this program and condoned it-but hoped it would provide him fodder to go after 2nd amendment freedoms, as his quip to Sarah Brady implies- I pray he is likewise investigated.

This is the BIGGEST cover-up since WATERGATE. We have 40K Mexican dead in Mexico--drug cartel members--milita--police--judges--government elected officials--and innocent civilians caught in the cross-fire.

Compare this to Watergate--where no one died-(it was just a simple break-in to a campaign office) -and Watergate turns out to be NADA.

Not just innocent civilians killed- but an attempt to make legitimate gun dealers seem irresponsible...when in fact it was our government that was criminally irresponsible, maybe even for mere political gain- if indeed Obama's quip to Sarah Brady means he knew what was happening.

This isn't going away, and nor should it. The whole thing has the feel of a coverup, politicians and bureaucrats trying to hide the truth. We're told one thing, then a different story. Somebody has been lying, somebody was extremely stupid in the first place for approving the op, and somebody was extemely incompetent to allow those guns to become "lost". I want to know what the fuck happened.

Iran

The Iran–Contra affair (Persian: ایران-کنترا, Spanish: caso Irán-contras), also referred to as Irangate, Contragate or Iran-Contra-Gate, was a political scandal in the United States that came to light in November 1986. During the Reagan administration, senior Reagan administration officials and President Reagan secretly facilitated the sale of arms to Iran, the subject of an arms embargo.[1] Some U.S. officials also hoped that the arms sales would secure the release of hostages and allow U.S. intelligence agencies to fund the Nicaraguan Contras. Under the Boland Amendment, further funding of the Contras by the government had been prohibited by Congress.

GHW Bush admitted the Iran contra affair--DIDN'T HE?

We have an administration right now that is dodging--trying to cover this one up--"I didn't know anything"--and yesterday we found e-mails regarding the Fast and Furious program that came right out of the DOJ--that the White House did in fact receive.

New Fast and Furious details indicate gov’t cover-up, White House involvement...threads merged

The heated Congressional investigation into the botched Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives program Operation Fast and Furious reached a whole new level on Friday.

New emails obtained by the Los Angeles Times appear to show senior Obama administration and White House officials were briefed on the gun-walking operation. The three White House officials implicated by the LA Times’ reporting are Kevin M. O’Reilly, the director of North American Affairs for the White House national security staff; Dan Restrepo, the president’s senior Latin American advisor; and Greg Gatjanis, a White House national security official.

The emails were sent between July 2010 and February 2011, before the scandalous ATF program was exposed, according the LA Times.

The LA Times says a senior administration official denies that the emails which lead Fast and Furious ATF agent William Newell sent to O’Reilly — who later briefed Restrepo and Gatjanis –included details on “investigative tactics” used in the program. By “investigative tactics,” the White House means how ATF agents facilitated the sale of firearms to drug cartels via “straw purchasers,” or people who could legally buy guns in the U.S. but did so with the intention of selling them to individuals who would traffic them to Mexico.

Those emails apparently show Newell and O’Reilly discussing how the program was affecting Mexico.

Another explosive new detail that emerged on Thursday was a set of documents showing senior officials in Phoenix attempting to cover up a connection between Fast and Furious weapons and U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s death.

In a letter sent to Ann Scheel, the new acting U.S. Attorney for Arizona, House Oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa and Sen. Chuck Grassley wrote that high-ranking Phoenix officials tried to “prevent the connection [between Terry’s death and Fast and Furious weapons] from being disclosed.”

Internal emails also show that recently resigned Arizona U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke and his deputy Emory Hurley made the decision because “this way we do not divulge our current case (Fast and Furious) or the Border Patrol shooting case.”

Iran/Contra is playtime compared to this awful debacle. These weapons were used to slaughter an untold amount of innocent men, women, and children. These weapons were also used to murder a U.S. Border Patrol Agent. Heads need to roll on this one. Holder should be the first one to go.

But But But the whistle blowers are just disgruntled employees and are lying.

Remember that excuse you guys used to have for ANY whistleblowing?

I hope they get to to bottom of this and REWARD the whistleblowers for their honesty.

I just wish you people hadnt treated so many whistleblowers like trash during the Bush and Reagan admins

You people? I take exception to that, but whatever. I am relieved to see that you aren't defending this program, like the left did when the ATF took similarly morally reprehensible actions in Waco that resulted in women and children being burned alive. Those two cases are similar in their goals though.

The fact of the matter is Holder lied and obstructed the Congressional investigation. The entire program is bizarre and defies logic, and that's why I think there is much more to it than the stated goals.

What makes this even bigger than Watergate was the WhiteHouse's attempted use of this to subvert the Constitution by murdering enough Mexicans to create a public outcry sufficiently large enough to bury the objections of the gun rights advocates to setting the stage for the elimination of the Second amendment, even if it only allowed the Government to force the individual owner to register the firearms in their possession.
Once the Government has them in its registry, you're theirs for the taking.

One historical lesson to keep in mind when dealing with the administration of Barack Hussein Obama is that Germany on January 29, 1933 was the best educated, most culturally advanced, most sophisticated, most refined people and country on the continent of Europe. Germans did not awake the morning of the 31st to find the charnel ovens of Auschwitz up and operating full bore. It all happened one discrete step at a time.
Barack Hussein Obama is by all measures, the most dangerous man to American's everyday rights and freedoms to ever occupy the office of president.

"GHW Bush admitted the Iran contra affair--DIDN'T HE?"

Ronald Reagan, Ollie North, etc.

George "Read my lips" HW Bush was VP at the time.

Yeah and they both admitted it. You should probably read the above link from the LIBERAL L.A. times before making another comment.

We have 28,000 dead drug cartel members--police--militia--government officials--judges--and innocent civilians--including American citizens killed in the cross-fire--with GUNS that our ATF were supplying to drug cartels.

This cover up looks like it is going all the way to the top of this administration.

They wont. How it ends depends on how it go's in 2012. If Obama pulls out a win (huge if) then at around the second year more revelations will be made about fast and furious that will be impeachable. It wont get him out of office, but it will destroy his "legacy". Thats my opinion any way. Either way, all those involved will walk.

You may be right about the walk... I hope not, but if past history tells us anything, it's that after Nixon all presidents have perfected plausible deniability....well all except Clinton and his stupid "depends on what is is".

Obama is untouchable but I see Holder going down very hard for this. He will require a Presidential Pardon to get out of this.

Yes he is responsible for countless murders. And then there's the Constitutionality aspect of what he did. He should probably be arrested. Stay tuned.
