FBI being sued over role in Trump presidential election victory

Vice News files lawsuit over Bureau's refusal to disclose its role in Republican's victory.

Vice News is suing the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over its refusal to release documents relating to its conduct during the US presidential election.

The news website says the Bureau turned down 50 of its requests, made under the Freedom of Information Act, for files on the FBI’s discussions about Donald Trump.

The requests were made in an attempt to shed light on the FBI's decision, a week before polling day, to make public new information relating to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

The FBI used a previously inactive Twitter account to release files about Mr Clinton’s controversial pardon of Marc Rich, a hedge fund manager who was charged with tax evasion and making business deals with Iran, in 2001.

The Vice lawsuit, filed in conjunction with Ryan Shapiro, a research affiliate at Harvard University, states: “[Vice News] seeks public disclosure of specified government records to make sense of the pivotal role of the FBI, as well as of other agencies, in perhaps the most controversial presidential election in modern US history.

“Despite subsequent disclosures of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, since its inception, the FBI staunchly maintained it was a purely apolitical entity.

“However, numerous leading political and news media figures from across the political spectrum explicitly assert the FBI repeatedly and with significant impact affected the outcome of the 2016 US Presidential election.”

Comey must be held accountable for his malfeasance in office!
Now that Judicial Watch is going to go into hibernation because a republican is in the White House, someone on the left has to take over their job of relentlessly attacking the guy in the White House, especially because this time it will be justified. Good for Vice News.

No sweat. He'll commit suicide right on schedule. Happens every time.

Totally agree---and it looks like it would go deeper than Comey. Probably much deeper.

Holder had better keep a low profile. He's still in the spotlight over Fast and Furious as well as other crimes.

Holder and over 100 other former DOJ justices--(Republicans & Democrats) signed off on an excoriating condemnation letter for Comey's breach of protocol of NOT releasing information within 60 days of an election. He clearly violated the Hatch act of 1939--and his head is going to be on the platter, especially when Democrats take over. He'll be squealing as to else was involved in this, "if he hasn't already."

Millions of people voted during those 7 days believing charges were imminent against Hillary Clinton. 7 days later Comey gave birth to his nothing burger. Huma, Clinton's aid is still saying she has no idea how duplicates of her emails ended up on her x husbands laptop that was being investigated out of the FBI office in New York City. Well I think I know, and the Russians didn't do it.--LOL

Rudi Guiliani- adviser to the Trump campaign, and James Kallstrom former director of the FBI in New York City, both frequent flyers on FOX News, probably better start bleaching down their own computers, (if they haven't been siezed as yet.)--LOL

Agencies typically IGNORE FOIA requests and the so-called federal judiciary will not help.

Now you see why the Honorable Edward Snowden, Julian Assange and wikileaks should receive the Congressional Medal of Honor.

FBI director, James Comey proved his own guilt in one letter and one email. Something he had been looking for in thousands of Clinton's emails and never could find--he did with one letter and one email.

Knowledge of wrong doing & Intent--LOL His goose is cooked.

1. KNOWLEDGE OF WRONG DOING: The DOJ warned him not to send a letter to congress, citing long standing DOJ protocol. Comey ignored the warning and did it anyway.
Justice officials warned FBI that Comey’s decision to update Congress was not consistent with department policy

2. INTENT: When questioned by staff members about his decision he sent them an email that stated this: I think it is appropriate to "update" congress, to keep the American people informed.

Thereby violating the Hatch Act of 1939
