Food, fat and fate

Alabama is second to Mississippi. It's probably has more to do with our food. EVERYTHING is fried. You'd think with all the fish people on the Gulf Coast eat, we'd be healthy, but down here, if it's not fried, it's wrapped with bacon. It's the law.

Mississippi is the fattest state for 6th straight year, Colorado still leanest, Rhode Island getting fatter, Alaska slimmer

Does where you live determine your weight?

Is the population in Colorado healthier than the population in Mississippi?

Why are those of us in the West less fat than those in the South and East?

Are you aware that, according to the government tables, championship bodybuilders are morbidly obese?

Does where you live determine your ability to think? Are people in California suffering from a genetic defect, or is the problem environmental?

Maple syrup and butter covered grits.....mmmmmm

Damn those Canadians for inventing maple syrup.

Let's face it: fried food tastes damn good.

It makes sense that, if you live where it's easier to buy a fried meal, you're going to eat that way more often.

Sacrilege!!!!

There are only two acceptable ways to eat grits:
With redeye gravy
or
With butter, cheese and bacon.

Anything else is as un-American as ketchup on a hot dog.........

There are no acceptable ways to eat grits. There are no acceptable ways to serve grits. There is nothing acceptable whatsoever about grits in any way, shape, or form.

Caribbean brown sugar cane works if you don't like Canadian trees.

I concur, it does taste better.

There's no reason to avoid eating it if you also are active in exercise.

There's one very good reason to avoid fried foods: Peripheral Artery Disease

If you are ever in Orlando, Florida there are two places you have to go to eat. They both are called "The Catfish Place". One is in Apopka, the other is in St.Cloud.

They have THE best fried catfish you've ever tasted. I recommend the fingerling, but the boneless is most excellent as well. They have the creamiest coleslaw, the best collards, and fabulous hushpuppies. You get a very large serving too. Of course you could do as do and order the all you can eat catfsh.

Heaven.
