Formula 1 To Be Carbon Neutral By 2030

How much fun would it be to watch a NASCAR race with electric cars? Hypocrite "global warmers" travel around in jets that use more fuel in one trip than an entire Indy race and they preach about carbon emissions.

We believe F1 can continue to be a leader for the auto industry and work with the energy and automotive sector to deliver the world’s first net zero carbon hybrid internal combustion engine that hugely reduces carbon emissions around the world."
Funny thing is, just one private jet flying a liberal loon celebrity to a conference about global warming, will release more carbon emissions than all the F1 race cars all together do in one year. ... :cuckoo:
Mote phony baloney global leftbat virtue signalling.

How are those cars, support equipment, race teams, and owners getting from venue to venue around the world?
Not to mention all the carbon used to produce the car and tires and charging em ...all a big lie. Wanna be carbon neutral ....cancel all your races. Do it for the chirren

But they "feelz" good

If F1 can pull this off, which in itself will be a challenge, wouldn't doubt me for a second. Some lap times at certain tracks are running 3 seconds quicker, all within the last five years. Absolutely amazing.

“Few people know that the current F1 hybrid power unit is the most efficient in the world, delivering more power using less fuel, and hence CO2, than any other car. We believe F1 can continue to be a leader for the auto industry and work with the energy and automotive sector to deliver the world’s first net zero carbon hybrid internal combustion engine that hugely reduces carbon emissions around the world."

F1 sets target to become carbon neutral by 2030

They have the advantage of shitloads of money to throw at the problem. I don't think they will be successful without cheating though.

All electric cars can be made lighter and faster

And do you know why they change cars during a pit stop?

.
You are talking about Formula E, which is an all electric format. The 2-car format is no longer.

Race day format
All events begin with two practice sessions in the morning, an opening 45-minute session followed by a further 30-minute session. Drivers originally had two cars at their disposal[9] though this was eventually revised to just one vehicle after the introduction of the Gen2 car for the 2018–19 season, with 250 kW (335bhp) of power available throughout, 25 kW more than the Spark-Renault SRT_01E.[10]

Why didn't you post only 45 minutes?

The Gen2 race car was introduced for season five with significantly improved power and range, thus eliminating the need to change cars and pit stops altogether except for damages. However, cars are still vulnerable to power exhaustions if red flags and safety cars lengthen races. Gen2 also saw the introduction of the halo driver protection system.[27] The car was unveiled in January 2018.[28]

BMW, Nissan and DS Automobiles joined Formula E as official manufacturers for the 2018-19 season.[29] The format of the races also changed from a set number of laps to 45 minutes plus one lap.[30]

C'mon man. It took NASCAR forever to go with fuel injection. The supposed aero package is a f'n joke. No rear camber adjustment. They won't allow a pot leaf on any car. So behind the times. They care more about decal placement. Boring.

2030? That's an interesting coincidence. The UN is mandating all these changes to take place then (Agenda 2030) and their favorite zombie, Greta Thunberg, has announced that's when the destruction of our planet will kick in, in earnest.

Yes...such a coincidence.

Should I have? At least you read it. Improved battery power changed the 2-car format, but the Achilles heel of all electric is over heating. Don't forget, this is racing.

CO2 is NOT A POLLUNTANT. We shouldn't be structuring our lives and our world around that belief. F1 can SAY they will do this all they want, but will never actually do it.

Also, electric planes are not workable, even if battery technology gets much better. Not going to happen.

That "POLLUNTANT" sure fucks with my eyes.

We will see, won't we.

"Airplane pollution, which has risen by about two-thirds since 2005, is forecast to jump as much as sevenfold by 2050 as incomes in developing economies advance, making flying more affordable for hundreds of millions if not billions of people, according to the Montreal-based ICAO. IATA expects the number of airline passengers to double by 2037, to more than 8 billion a year."

"This isn't some future 'maybe one day' project," he said in an interview. "It's here, now and being built."

Under pressure about carbon emissions, the aviation world looks to battery-powered aircraft

1970 Datsun sedan (electric) vs Maserati Drag Race

Another thing we learned in the 2nd grade along with ice ages and stuff

AFX slot cars.

.

Those suckers were fast

Agree..

You should of scene my family room. My dad and uncle set it up for 8 racers and going down the back wall, you couldn't use full power

The local slot car track banned a racer for using glue on his tires. Oops!

We used to have some nice public ones in Chicago/Milwaukee area back then..

Because humans have always been entitled to overweight, over powered gas hogs, any change is naturally regarded as an aggression against their rights.
Don't even think of a change that might be for the better.
