The law in question was criminal defamation. And it was a law in Georgia. Until it was ruled unconstitutional in 1983. Apparently this is such a new thing that the police and courts in Washington county haven't heard about it.

The magistrate should lose his law license and the cops should be fired and barred from ever working as cops again. Oh and Washington County should have to file bankruptcy after a huge award is given to the ladies.
