I looked at this book online. All other things considered, it's aged for children 4-8 years--so preschool through, at BEST, 3rd grade. These are 5th graders, usually aged 10-11. So even content aside, it's a time-filler. It can't be curricular to read such a simple rhyming book to children this age.
