Longknife, do you actually intend to suggest that vulcanism or geothermal heat is responsible for anything more than some of the melting taking place on the Thwaites Glacier? If so, for what other phenomena would you credit geothermal heat?
Probably because there is no earthly way a even a 10 degree rise could affect the glacier. It's simply so damned cold down there that the surface temp AVERAGES -15C, so your pathetic one degree increase is going to do what? Exactly? How does -14C compare to -15C?
