GM highest profits EVER

Well GM is alive and so are the jobs, and conservatives are unsure of how to political hay out of it at this time. If GM goes on to be successful it will be because of Bush, if GM flounders whose fault but Obama's.

Conservatives have stated it should have gone the route of Bankruptcy/Reorganization without hanging more debt around the necks of the taxpayers as they have now with the decision to use taxes to rescue them...(NOT what taxes are to be used for I might add under the Constitution).

It HAS been made political because of the involvement of the UNIONS who have a huge stake in and without the UNIONS Obama wouldn't have a chance in Hell of being re-elected... this as they are the money-launderers FOR the Democrats, and the likes of Obama.

Thank me.

Obama fucked over Senior secured creditors to give UAW equity and put taxpayer on the hook for the bloated pensions, how is that a win?

Great job by President Obama to rescue both GM and Chrysler while conservatives whined that he would never see a cent of our money back

Now the "Let them fail" Republicans can answer to the voters

We haven't seen a cent of our money back you idiot.

The stock is worth less than we paid for it therefore we have lost money

All the money Obama lent has been paid back. We are still waiting for the money that Bush gave without requiring stock equity

They have paid about 85% of what was owed

And they would have been totally fucked had the taxpayers NOT been on the hook for it in the bailout.

Is English your second language Sewerboy?

I don't care which idiot politician bailed out GM with a stock purchase.

It should not have been done. The fucking government has no business owning stock in private companies.

Looks like you're clueless. In America, debt converts to equity union get crammed down

You win some, you lose some

They made a poor investment and it didnt work out. they are not the first and won't be the last

Another big winner argument for the GOP LOL....idiocy- and they gave MUCH MORE to their financial giant cronies who CAUSED this mess, with their help. AND tax cuts for the bloated rich, and destroy Medicare...BRILLIANT! LOL!

All but $14 billion of the $80 billion loan has been repaid

But saving the auto companies from bankruptcy, and preserving thousands of American jobs, has cost taxpayers at least $14 billion, according to several estimates by government agencies and independent groups.*

To put in perspective, that's about the same we have given in subsidies to BIG OIL in the same timeframe

Which REPUBLICANS refused to end

14 billion out of 80 billion is not ALL THE MONEY

More liberal math .

You forgot that BOOOOSH also had his bailout. Unlike Obama, who insisted on a management and labor restructuring as well as the taxpayer being a stockholder.........Bush gave his bailout without strings attached

thats alot of jobs and taxes paid.

Im glad we didnt listen to the idiots that wanted it to die
GM would not have died, they would have filed for bankruptcy and restructured. Idiots like you believed all the lies from the politicians, yes even Bush. I did not like the idea when it was a Bush idea.

Who was going to loan the auto companies $80 billion in early 2009?

The banks?

In America, senior secured creditors have a FIRST claim on assets and they should have come out owning 25% or more of the company while the unions get crammed down.

Under Obama, 230 years of bankruptcy laws got upended and the Unions get to be owners.

If you had a clue, you'd know that
