On January 15, 2014, the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released a bipartisan review of its findings in an investigation of the September 11, 2012, attacks on an American diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya. Much of the report dispels myths perpetuated by Fox News over the last sixteen months.

There was no cover-up. Trying to pretend a terrorist attack wasn't a terrorist attack would not help a president running for office anyway. Terrorist attacks tend to make Americans rally around a president.

the Right would have accused them of trying to politicize a tragedy.
The reason the gop is screaming "Benghazi! Benghazi! Benghazi!" is because they simply have nothing else to run on. Clearly they cannot run on their record. What has the gop done for the economy. They refuse to raise the minimum wage, they refuse to tackle immigration, they continue to work against women's rights, they refuse to extend unemployment insurance, and they have worked to take food out of the mouths of Americans by cutting SNAP benefits. EXACTLY what have they done for America that has benefited the citizens of America? With poll numbers regarding ACA on the rise they cannot continue to call it a failure which is what their plan was for the 2014 election. So what have they got to run on? What have they done to make America a better place? Absolutely nothing and more and more Americans are coming to this conclusion each day.
