This is another very winnable race the Republican Party might be throwing away because they once again picked their most extreme candidate in a swing state. It seems they didn't learn the lessons of 2020 or 2022. The GOP is not sending us their best.

The Republican nominee for governor in North Carolina Mark Robinson once insinuated the United States government was involved in both the attack on Pearl Harbor and the death of U.S. General George Patton as part of a conspiracy to help Joseph Stalin.

Robinson, who currently serves as the state’s lieutenant governor is now running in what is considered one of the most competitive governor races in the country in a state that is also a battleground in the presidential election come November.

We have a "president" who claims that he was in jail with Mandela and that his uncle was eaten by cannibals...Shelia Jackson Lee thought Neil Armstrong planted a flag on Mars...Mazie Hirono regularly utters the most stupid shit ever uttered by any human being, elected or not.

So allegedly buying onto conspiracy stories is somehow disqualifying?

So if you believe them all conspirator theorists, why are you posting this in elections Taz?

Being a conspiracy theorist is no longer a disqualifier for a Republican seeking office, in fact, it is quite the opposite.

In Trumpland, it is a requirement.

Our government has been lying to us for quite some time

Yet the second one points out these folks have an agenda, a self serving goal, or any obvious collusive intent , one is handed a tin hat

This only lives on in those willing to accept , unwilling to question authority

and that, my friends, is exactly how fascism works
