Mitch McConnell To Filibuster Gun Control Bill

McConnell is the fifteenth Republican to join the filibuster effort being led by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). The GOP leader could have opted to stay out of it, letting the votes happen on the gun package and putting the pressure on House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to decide the bill's fate, if it even made it out of the Senate. Instead, McConnell is making a calculated decision to be part of the filibuster effort that could derail the entire push for gun control legislation.

These are the most disgusting, disgraceful people we've ever seen in D.C.

They are using a procedural mechanism, filibuster, to deny a vote without even giving a reason.

If you disagree with the bill, go on the record and vote NO.

We already have enough gun laws. More gun laws shouldn't even be brought to the floor. Reid is probably praying for filibuster so his 12 dem senators in red states won't be on record.

LMAO, here is just how stupid you people are...it would be voted on strict party lines...and yet you two are stupid to know that.

They don't want a vote on it because they don't want some of the more vulnerable GOP senators to have to vote against something with 90% popular support, or vote for it with the gun lobby ready to primary them.

Truth is we should allow it to be voted on in the senate. Then the people will see which Democrats truly support the constitution and which don't....

Enforce the current gun laws, more laws would not have saved the children at Sandyhook.....
