The government should inspect and approve the news the same way they approve and inspect any other product Americans consume. You wouldn't want to eat rancid beef that's been left in the supermarket for months, why would you want to consume news that lacks the Government Seal of Approval?

Excellent! What controls are there on news at this point? Now anyone can pass anyuthing off as news. People need to be protected from bad news. Government inspection is the way to go.

Who wants to go back to the 18th century when anyone could print anythng he wanted?

The old saying in the 18th century was, all the news that's fit to print. The guy that broke that motto was Mr. Hearst...

Why is this so wrong for a "news" company?

Should we be protected from bad news?
