Great Barrier Reef scientists confirm largest die-off of corals recorded

Laboratory studies have long ago clearly shown at what temperatures corals thrive and at what temperatures corals die. Guess what dipwad?

They have a 1C margin? Really?

What happened to the waters becoming gastric juices, have you backed off of that absurd claim? Remember when you claimed that an "acid" that instantly disassociates upon contact with water was making the oceans "Acidic"

Frank, do you really think you're in a position to debate chemistry with ANYBODY?

Really?...laboratory studies?...what has the real world told us about the temperatures in which corals survive? Are corals a recent development?...or did corals evolve to survive at a much higher temperature...and in a much more acidic ocean?...you think present generations forget evolutionary development?

While CO2 levels have been as high as they are today within the last few million years (well, maybe 65 of them), ocean pH has not been as low because those changes happened gradually enough to allow the ocean to be buffered by the weathering of limestone. As you've been told multiple times before, the last time pH changed as rapidly as it is changing today was the occasion of the Permian Triassic extinction.

What is your statement supposed to mean? Do you think corals have NOT been studied in the laboratory? Ever see the coral tank at the Smithsonian? It was the first time coral was ever kept alive and growing in a tank. The project was initially run by a friend of mine. Do you have any idea how tightly they had to control conditions to succeed? The ocean is a big piece of water. Size provides stability.
