Americans are average

Americans get lost in egotistical posturing, strutting and commercialism. The music becomes less important in many cases and it shows.

I think that the most grandiose works were written by Metallica in the 90s, but I doubt that Metallica itself did it. Most likely they were some brilliant composers who worked for the interests of America and Freedom, they gave them this material. Metallica doesn't have anything like that, the rest of their stuff is mediocre and they have a different style.

I think musicians usually don't do their best stuff themselves.

James is a genius at writing songs. His lyrics are insanely deep and profound. Pure genius.
