And another bites the dust... thanks to Obama.

Guard fired after Obama visit This is a nightmare
ATLANTA - Kenneth Tate, the private security guard fired after photographing President Obama at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, says the day went from being among the best he had ever had to "a nightmare."
Tate, 49, said the high point of his $42,000-a-year job was when he was assigned to accompany the president during his visit to the CDC's Atlanta headquarters seven weeks ago for a briefing on the Ebola epidemic, reports The New York Times.
An investigation conducted shortly after the president's visit revealed that Tate was carrying a CDC-issued firearm, a violation of Secret Service protocols — and a security lapse that the agency's director at the time, Julia Pierson, never mentioned to the White House, the paper adds.
The Washington Post initially reported that Tate had been convicted of crimes, but subsequently corrected the claim.

Why was the guard fired if he was never briefed on the security protocol? Shouldn't the person whose job it was to brief him be held accountable?

Either way, I'm not seeing how this is in any way Obama's fault. It sounds like somebody higher up in the Secret Service is using this man as a scapegoat to deflect any blame away from him/herself.

The president was never even made aware of this. It was a routine security procedure.

I do remember Fox News freaking out because someone with a gun was allowed on an elevator with Obama. Bill O'Reilly was beside himself, claiming that the President's people could not keep him safe.

No matter what happens, the Right feeds its moron base silly talking points. If someone has an unauthorized gun near the president, the Right tells its base to shout incompetence. If someone with an unauthorized gun is removed, the Right shouts unfair.

Idiot lemmings.

Bullshit. It's the President for heaven's sake. Politics don't come into play whatsoever when it comes to the security of the President of America. The SS detail should have been reprimanded severely.

Not seeing in anyway why you think Obama is at fault- the guard himself says that Obama struck up a conversation with him.

Sounds like his security company employer over reacted.

Around 2:25 p.m., the presidential motorcade arrived at the back entrance of the C.D.C. On the elevator ride, Mr. Tate said, the president struck up a conversation.

“He acknowledged me, said, ‘How you are doing?’ He said, ‘What’s your name?’ I told him my name, and he extended his hand, shook my hand, and I said it’s a pleasure to meet him. And I proceeded to escort him upstairs.”

“I was just proud,” Mr. Tate said. “That was a big accomplishment to me.” He said one of the Secret Service agents had told him that it was remarkable that Mr. Obama had talked to him, considering it had taken the president two years to acknowledge the agent.
