gun-control efforts calls for sheriff to inspect gun owner's homes

I will bet that the only mistake here was that it was published before it was voted on.

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners. The bill’s backers say that was a mistake.
As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.

you do realize that this artical is an opinion piece ...

In Ireland the police are allowed to come to your house and check if you gun is stored safely according to regulations. The gun owners who I know think that it is a good idea.
Fine.....then go move there.

Here in this great country we have a beautiful thing called the 4th amendment.

I have lived in Ireland for 16 years. What problem do you have with gun safety?

Would you have a problem with your mother in-law coming over everyday inspecting your home?

Haha, 4th amendment violations aside.......there is NO WAY cops would do this shit. Yeah, tell cops to go house to house to "inspect" it inside for assault weapons? Yeah right. They'll tell the city council to go fuck themselves. Cops have a hard enough job without doing this nonsense.
as much as these rep-lie-tards hate the ACLU, they will be all over that bill ... you can count on them to protect your 4th amendment ... this law would be a clear violation of your 2an and 4th amendment rights ... comming from a left wing liberal lefty thats says a lot about gun owners ... see we lefties aren't against the law, were against rep-lie-tard law ... I'll bet you dimes to donuts that some rep-lie-tards put that in to anger the right...

I don't have a problem with gun safety. I'm well versed and trained on many weapons...I have a problem with armed government officials going into peoples homes for no other reason than to act as Nanny State enforcers.

That may be what Ireland is all about, but that's not what this great country is all about.

Then you are paranoid and I would not say that you live in a great country.

A pretty stupid comparison.

Why? So you have a problem with your mother in-law inspecting your home, but no problem with a complete stranger doing a walk through? BTW your reaction shows that it was a very good comparison

You mean that storing a gun fully loaded and the safety off under the pillow of your youngest child is not the proper place to store a gun....I will take that as a no....

For the love of god what is wrong with you people.
Whatever people do in other countries is just gospel to the lefties here.

No, it means storing guns in a proper locked gun locker in a locked room.

Interesting that California appears to have more safe cities than the rest of the country.

Check list you don't have a problem with a complete stranger doing a walk through of your home because he from the guberment, but when it comes too your mother in-law doing an inspection you object.

0 murders in Kennesaw Georgia I gave the stats in that link what are the city sizes and how many murders have they had in the past 25 years and do they have any laws that require it's citizens to have a firearm?

I never said that I had a problem with my mother in law. When my father in law is in my house, he is always checking our house for safety, and I really appreciate it.

The police here have the right to make sure your guns are stored safely, it is not like they do it all of the time. You just know that it could happen and you had better have them stored safely.
