If we listen to the media, and the current crop of politicians, we would think that every day police officers want gun control to be as strict as possible. Turns out that is not actually true.
I thought this one was telling, it seems that police are actually more likely to think that banning "assault weapons" would actually make people less safe.
They also seem to think that the White House proposal, which includes limits on magazine capacity, a ban on assault weapons, and universal background checks, would actually make it more dangerous to be a cop.
The most popular answer to preventing mass shootings is expanding concealed carry for the public.

There is a lot more at the link, but it seems that most police actually understand the same thing all us "gun nuts" have been saying all along, the best way to stop a bad man with a gun is a good man with a gun.
