Multi-lingualism is a huge handicap for a country and mexico is trying to stop it . OTOH American liberals are trying to force it on america. The mayor of LA brags that 200 languages are spoken in the city!!!!

Blog: Mexico upset that returning illegals are speaking English

march 4 2017 Isn't it irritating when foreigners come into a country in large numbers and refuse to speak the native language? It is irritating to Mexicans, who find that some deported illegals who return home are speaking English!

It really interrupts the economic and social norms of Mexico[.] ... They speak English, and they're asking for access to higher education and to employment in ways that their parents were not able to.

What's next? "Barrios" or "neighborhoods" where all the signs are in English? Will people have to "press 1" to speak to someone in Spanish?

"Many of these people come not knowing how to speak Spanish," said Amalia García, secretary of Mexico City's labor department, which serves as a point of contact for the deportees. "They come feeling very bitter, very ashamed and very hurt."

I don't believe a word of it. Spanish speaking families maintain that language and culture.

Each state should pass a law that says all public schools must teach in english only. You ask - What about my French class? Crap like that shouldn't be taught in school. Schools should teach STEM and only in english.

Your ignorance is exceeded only by your bigotry

Namecalling is all the left ever has. Even they know their views are indefensible.

If you have ever been to Mexico you would discover many in the urban centers can speak English...

For the rural farmer that is a different story seeing many of them are uneducated and know the local dialect of their region where they are from.
