GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas said in a statement on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the UN resolution partitioning Palestine that the decision was null and void and that the entire land of historical Palestine was and will remain the sole homeland of the Palestinian people.
The movement's refugees' affairs department issued the statement on Sunday saying that the resolution was based on results of World War II and was used as a tool to justify colonialist policies in the region.
The Palestinian people in its entirety refuse the resolution, considering it "unacceptable and illegitimate" and whatever resulted from it as null and void, Hamas elaborated.
The UN resolution 181 aimed at giving legitimacy to the infamous "Balfour Declaration" and to complement the Sykes-Picot agreement, which disintegrated the Arab world and chose Palestine to "plant this Zionist military project", it said.
Hamas charged that the big colonialist powers in the world led by the USA were trying to sanction the legality of "this military base called Israel", which over the years could only enhance its presence as "a racist, alien, inhuman entity in this region with its repeated crimes against the Palestinian and Arab peoples."
