Shutting down initially was understandable. Once more was known of the virus, we needed to change. Sweden decided early this would be their position. Like many nations, they lost a large number of their citizens in Nursing Homes. Thanks Communist Party of China. Sweden has basically defeated this, as I assumed would be the case. Take precautions, but go overboard and you are just avoiding the inevitable.
Ontario is experiencing a worse wave than the first. People want more lockdowns and shutdowns of business. They don't care, it's not their livelihood going belly up the they have CERB, a temp. payment for those unemployed due to the Wuhan Virus.

Expert claims Sweden now has 'herd immunity' from coronavirus

Shops, bars and restaurants stayed open throughout the pandemic and the wearing of masks has not been advised by the government.
'The rapidly declining cases we see in Sweden right now is another indication that you can get the number of cases down quite a lot in a country without having a complete lockdown,' he previously told Unherd.
This figure is less than half of the UK's own infection rate of 69 per 100,000 people.
