Or is this a one off disaster?

Imo he has certainly taken electioneering to the lowest possible place it can go. Despite doing that his popularity remains steady so one has to wonder if this kind of low brow campaign will be what we see out of future candidates because it seems to work?

or perhaps this all will show the need to reforms of pacs etc and so forth.....its just outta hand......superdelegates on the democratic side....hillary getting nomination even if popular vote goes for sanders....and the trump thing....i have never seen this....its like the worst of the parties have risen to the top...perhaps that saying...if you let idiots vote they will just elected the biggest idiot is about to be proven.....i got issues with the democrats but fuck the gop is just a snake pit...

no they will just go lower....dole was an example of attack ads not working....liz ...dole....no one learned....i am appalled at what little citizenship exists today...in this country

If the GOP establishment usurps the will of their constituents and robs Trump of the nomination, it will be the GOP establishment that has done irreparable damage to the election process. The republican one that is. The Democrat process has no such wild complaints.

OK let me get this right, Cruz and his campaign lie that Carson's out of the race. Then the Cruz campaign photo shops a picture of Rubio and Obama AND then sends out a false story that Rubio slagged the Bible AND then goes after Trump's wife in a big way and you are freaking knocking Trump?

Give me a freaking break. I won't even get into all the other dirty tricks that were out there from other camps.

I think Trump has set a new standard for campaigning. Build a base of the lowest common denominator. Fear, hate, bigotry ...use it to get enough support in a large primary field

I think Obama said it best

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations. "

For crying out loud. what the heck has he done that hasn't ever been done before. all this bs flying around over him. the PEOPLE are Angry and he's tapping into that. why is that such a bad thing. we are suppose to be slaughtered like meek little sheep ? Because that what this Government wants from you.

Watch out for people who think openness and freedom of expression has no place in the electoral process. Regardless of your emotional impression of Trump, it's clear to republicans and democrats alike that he has changed the electoral process and probably for the better. The fact that stodgy elitist so-called "establishment" politicians fear Trump is gotta be a good thing don't you think? On the other hand the fact that democrats think a socialist is a legitimate candidate is far more sinister and possibly damaging to the electoral process.

Dems supporting Sanders are really pissed off about the Super Delegates. If Sanders continues to win and he some how beats her in pledged delegates (he's 200 and some change behind right now) the SD's have already said they will under no circumstances support him. There's a shit ton of Dems pissed off at whats happening with the SD's and if they don't change their votes to support him...we'll see a revolt.

Problem with Dems is that after they are done kicking and screaming they'll all line up behind Clinton.

This thread isn't about other camps dear.
Did your mother teach you it was ok to be bad if the other kids were being bad too?

If you mean by pointing out how party elites can ignore the people's choice and demean the front runner to install thief own chosen candidate, then yes by all means Trump has done that!

Dem superdelgates have always gone to whoever wins the majority of votes in the primary. This time will be no different.

No.

The fact that so many ( meaning about a third ) republicans have a desire to support a completely unqualified candidate because he is rude and talks like a guy who's in charge is what has messed up the GOP in this cycle.

That's not Trump's fault. And...it hasn't ruined the system as a whole.

vs. a woman who used the power of her husband's political offices to intimidate and silence the women he raped and sexually assaulted........that is the fault of every democrat that votes for this woman.....

The super delegates have been part of the Dem deal for decades.

You won't see a revolt and that is not a problem. The Dems will be united coming out of the convention.

This fails as a red fallacy - the thread's about Trump.
