Have you ever used a chainsaw before? If not, I highly recommend you get with someone who is experienced to show you how to use it. You can seriously and I mean SERIOUSLY fuck yourself up with a chainsaw.

Stihl makes an excellent electric saw. Unless you are headed into the log woods for a living, they will handle most anything a homeowner will need to do. Getting the big one will handled even storm damage. Two batteries for the often unneeded changeout. No mixing, no gas going bad in storage. Only issue is bar length. These max out at 14". But if your needs are 10-14" then they will do you well.

Don't forget Jonsered...best chainsaw I own now is a CS2255.

Second Echo. I've dropped Echos a hundred feet out of a tree more than once, and they came out of it raring for more.

Update...apparently, Echo doesn't make the Gray line anymore...so can't give a recommendations there.

I have a Poulan and a Stihl. It really doesn't matter. Even a smaller tree can take a while to cut up. Don't short yourself with a battery powered one.

No Husqvarna, too finicky about the gas.

Reminds me, I have to operate on the Husqvarna and see what's wrong with it.

Stihls are very reliable. I have both, the Stihl is bigger.

I was almost done cutting up a big tree and wanted to use the smaller Husqvarna, because it's lighter. Went to use it...no power, no stay running. I don't have time for that crap. Cranked up the Stihl and got 'er done.

I'm not messing with it today. Grr!
