I put myself in the position to have that benefit by my hard work and dedication. My employer is mandated to provide that health care via union contract. They have no choice. It actually got BETTER in the 2013 contract and should at least stay the same this,year.

My personal way to fix this is to put a date out there for the end of social safety nets. Say, July 1. Then when you get your June entitlements you know full well that they are the last, you know that come July you will have to provide for yourself. Then, the government can start taking applications so that those with real reasons that they cant work can begin getting government help. And let me tell you, I knew a guy that was in a wheel chair, no use of his legs, limited use of his arms, yet he was at the office every day working as a proof reader for an engineering firm. He made good money at this.
