Hey Christians, why are you clebrating paganism?

You know.........I don't really think there is anything right with celebrating a significant birth that occurs on some other day than what it really happened.
First off, because of that, you're bearing false witness, which is against the 10 Commandments.

Second, by celebrating via pagan rituals tied into pagan holidays, don't you think that kinda goes against what Yeshua taught?

And finally........Yeshua had stated that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter Heaven. Don't you think that the greed and commercialism that is most commonly associated with this time of year (hence the term "silly season"), goes against what He'd taught?

It really is amazing how many of you Christians go with the okey doke without bothering to find out the why.

Am I supposed to care about what you think or don't think?

Not really, but apparently you do, otherwise you wouldn't have quoted me.

When I want any lip off you, I'll just simply wipe my zipper bitch.

Is all you have crude insults? I guess I'm supposed to care about those too?

You know.......every year around this time, I start wondering the same old question.......

Why are good Christians celebrating pagan holidays? Do they know that Christmas is timed to coincide with the Winter Solstice? Do they also understand that Yeshua was actually born around the end of October?

How about Christmas caroling? Do you know the origins of that? What about Santa Claus and his flying reindeer? Know what made them fly? Legend has it that it was the Amantia Muscaria mushroom used by Siberian shaman.

Do they also understand that Christianity was mixed with paganism via the Catholic church and the Roman Empire?

And the........there's that little thing of remembering exactly who HaShem is, and not worshiping any false gods or idols.

So, why are you Christians celebrating paganism?
I've wrestled with my own faith over the same thing in my life several times.
Since I have become more secure in my beliefs I've pushed those stumbling blocks aside and now we simply enjoy decorating everything and singing along to Christmas carols.
Our kids and grandkids know what we're truly celebrating.
That's all I'm worried about.

Romans 14: said:
5One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. 6He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. 7For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; 8for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. 9For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. 10But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

Hey stupid.........apparently you don't really bother to read the taglines next to people's avis, do you?

If so, you'd see that Newby's tagline states "Steeler girl".

Getting a knob job from a chick isn't gay, because I'm a male.

Next?

I guess I just never expected you to break form and and make a sexual advance towards a female on the boards.

I am honestly surprised.

Sorry to surprise you, but because I'm a hetero male, I guess that puts me outta your dating pool Jellied Butt Sniffer, Minister of Acting Dumb.

A better question....why don't you celebrate the Pagan holiday?

I don't wanna here it when you get a lump of coal for Christmas.

Now chill out and have some eggnog

If I get a lump of coal it's because Santa is a Siberian Shaman who practices paganism and feeds his reindeer Amantia Muscaria mushrooms to make them fly.

It ain't Yeshua's fault, it's that pagan Shaman Santa.

Ah yes,

The meandering observations of somebody who just reached that level of maturity where it makes them feel intelligent to declare their non-believer status.

I never tire of them telling us what they think they've discovered...basically the same stuff people have know since before their grandfather was born.

WOW! Christmas falls around a celestial event and so does EASTER!!!

Who knew?

Passing it off as Yeshua's actual birthday is what's wrong. Ever hear the commandment "thou shalt not bear false witness"?

Mixing it in with pagan rituals is way out of line with Yeshua. But then again......the Romans wanted everyone in their empire to follow just 1 religion, so they forced it down the throats of the pagans by their holidays.

Incidentally, I'm not an "unbeliever" like you've stated. I actually acknowledge HaShem as God, and His Son Yeshua. I also acknowledge Buddha, Lao-Tzu, Sun-Tzu, and the Brahmans of the Hindu religion.

I just think it's wrong to lie about Yeshua.

Because of my afore-mentioned struggles with this holiday I have since directed my family to stop referring to it as His birthday for the same reason you brought up.
It IS, however, (to us) a "holy-day" (holiday) where the root word is 'Christ' (Christ-Mass)
In other words, while it may not be His birthday it is a day spent in celebration of Him.

Would be nice if it truly was spent as a day in celebration of Him, but unfortunately, it seems that with all the rampant commercialism that seems to be the main point of the holiday, Yeshua has basically been relegated to window dressing on a lawn or storefront window somewhere.

And yet, if it HADN'T gotten all mixed up, don't you think that people would be a little more cognizant of what the holiday is all about?

That's a ridiculous assumption to make. In my family and in every christian home I know of, it is a celebration of him. People are aware of what the holiday is all about, it's your assumption that they do not, an incorrect one I might add.
