Remember right after the election? All the polls predicted a Clinton win. In fact, she did win more votes than Donald. But she failed to win those 68,000 Wisconsin votes that would have given her the White House.
In the aftermath, gobsmacked Clinton supporters were justifiably upset. The gloating Trump supporters called them 'snowflakes' and warned us so presciently that the Trump Train was on a roll.
And in the intervening year and a half?
The Trump administration has undergone a turnover rate comparable to that of a Dairy Queen in September. Secretaries of State, Health and Human Services, the administrator of the EPA, communications directors, press secretaries, Senior White House advisors and Chiefs of Staff have all thrown in the towel. A Special Counsel was appointed to investigate shenanigans during the campaign, collusion and conspiracy with the Russians, fraud and any other malfeasance.
As a result, so far flue Trump campaign officials, Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, George Papadopolous and Mike Flynn have plead guilty to charges or have been convicted by a jury. Suspicion hangs over Donald Trump Jr. and his brother-in-law Jared Kushner. The walls are closing in on The Donald himself.
And what is the reaction from those floating Trump supporters who coined the term 'snowflake'? They shout and point backward to Hillary Clinton! Their ire, their disgust is focused on the loser of the 2016 election. Those Trumpians are adopting their own snowflake posture as they blame Hillary and ignore the legal and political woes of The Donald.
Therefore, I postulate that Hillary Clinton generates more snow than an Alberta Clipper in January. She is the most convenient boogeyman available for those who invested so heavily in the Donald Trump stock. As if they could not see the inevitable end of their emotional commitment.
We knew in 2016 that Trump was a scumbag. We agreed that 2016 presented us with two deeply flawed candidates. We knew it would be a choice of two evils. But to get so emotionally involved with one of them, we knew was a fool's game. Snowflakes in November 2016 were involved with Clinton. But snowflakes in 2018 are involved with Trump. Clinton is their whipping boy.
An old teacher of mine said when you point your finger at someone, you are pointing four back at yourself. Trumpian snowflakes have no one but themselves and The Donald to blame. But a snowflake gotta snowflake.
