Police funding cuts blamed for rise in gun and violent crime

Labour MP Steve McCabe (Lab Selly Oak) spoke out after it emerged West Midlands Policeare dealing with more than ten gun crimes every week.

It means the West Midlands is the gun crime capital of England and Wales - for the second year running.

Official figures show the force dealt with 562 firearms offences last year.

This was up from 540 the year before.

Funny...for a country that confiscated guns and has extreme gun control for the hunting shot guns that remain....sure have a lot of gun trouble........

And where they did confiscate guns but instead expanded the authority to carry them........you not only see far more gun violence, you see a sudden surge in gun deaths:

If only the UK could be more like Tampa. Instead of seeing gun incidents cut by half over the years as happened in parts of the UK, they can see a surge in gun deaths too!

Robber runs away after accomplices are shot, one fatally, by victim

An armed robbery at a St. Lucie County, Florida, mobile home park Tuesday night left one suspect dead, another injured and authorities searching for the third, who fled when gunfire erupted as one of the victims fought back.

Kyle Davis, 21, was standing outside around 12:45 a.m., talking with two friends – Michael Cunningham, 20, and David Quintero, 20 – when the trio was approached by three men, who announced a robbery. At least one of the suspects was armed with a gun, TCPalm reported.

Davis was knocked to the ground, beaten and pistol whipped. Then the suspects cleaned him of his wallet and cell phone, before turning their attention toward Davis’ friends. What the suspects failed to find, however, was a 9 mm which Davis was carrying concealed.

Fearing for his own life and the safety of his friends, Davis, who lost several teeth while being beaten and possibly broke his nose, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara, waited for the right moment to make a move on the three suspects.

“He was obviously scared,” Mascara noted.

“He said he saw that moment where the guys gaze looked away from him and he thought that was the time to get it done,” added Detective Paul Taylor.

Davis fired multiple shots, striking at least two of the suspects. The third suspect took off as soon as shots were fired, leaving his wounded accomplices behind. Authorities said they are unsure whether the third suspect was shot.

Two Armed Robbers Walk Into A Liquor Store, Only One Walks Out; Armed Clerk Refuses To Be A Victim – Concealed Nation

TAMPA, FLORIDA — In an armed robbery gone wrong for the robbers and right for the store clerk, one of the robbers wound up dead while his partner took off in hopes that the body count wouldn’t change to two.

It happened late Sunday night at Cut Rate Liquor Store in Tampa when two men armed with a gun walked into the store. Shortly after entering, they found themselves exchanging gunfire with an armed clerk who did not want to be a victim of their violent crime.

That clerk shot and killed one of the robbers, while the other one ran for his life.

Police are still searching for the second suspect.

No one else was injured during the incident.
