Since when should the House undertake an impeachment investigation prior to taking a vote? The answer is never if there is any legitimacy to the inquiry in the first place. Today's vote is clearly a fig leaf to cover the Democrats' intention to impeach President Trump since the day he was elected, and constitutes an admission that this effort has been nothing more than a political crusade to prevent his reelection.

The coming year will determine the future of our Republic in ways that will stretch far beyond the next election.

wait until we see what the demonic nuts do around Christmas.

It's about keeping the hyper partisan and rabid base engaged with the Democrat Party.

Trump will also used this as a way to keep the hyper partisan and rabid base of the Republican Party engaged as well which will only grow as these people will go out and recruit more and more.

The Democrat Party is the gift that keeps on giving for Trump.

All I know is this, you must NOT become like Canada. Too many look to socialists nations like Canada, Sweden, UK, China to suggest there is "happiness". It's a big fraud.

People "vote" with their feet. Far more head to America from these great socialist nations than vice versa. Why? For the very things some want to destroy. Capitalism, your Republic and Constitution.

It must not happen. Do your part and speak your minds beyond just a forum. I know I've been a thorn in the sides of the dirty covert Canadians, you must never become like us.

Dumbass, they voted on the impeachment inquiry RULES today.
And these rules cut Trump a lot more slack than Nixon or Clinton got.

Democrats are giving Trump more impeachment rights than Clinton or Nixon got — but there's a catch

That's why there's an investigation to impeach our tin pot dictator.
The system of denying tyrannical power to a wanna-be-monarch is working.

And I've been from Vancouver to Ottawa and back again to Winnipeg and Alberta and Toronto and I didn't see the misery you're describing.

Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft, your donor class has it covered "either" way.

America is already socialist, it's just that here, socialism is reserved for the aristocracy.

The vote was simply held to give the Democrats some political cover for their charade. Now they can drag this farce out until after the election and claim the full House has voted on a "fair process" (which we all know to be bullshit). After the election they'll decide whether or not to vote on Articles of Impeachment.

Where was the Special Prosecutor's report on Ukraine?

There was a report from Archie Cox and Leon Jaworski. There was a report from Ken Starr. But the Bill Barr led DOJ didn't follow up on the criminal referrals sent his way. Nothing to see here! Move along!

Since there was no investigation, the House had to do it.

Now that the investigation is wrapping up, the Intelligence committee can submit their findings (as if they were a Special Prosecutor) and the House can begin impeachment hearings.

Process is all ya got.

You don't know Canada very well. We are being crushed like a bug on the International stage. In the last 2 years alone, dropping 4 places in competitiveness. Our innovation is gone, along with our most talented. We have a 9.5% expat rate, second highest on the planet! Foreign investment shrunk significantly from just a few years ago (we get a small bump this year and everyone cheers, not telling the dumb Canadians we dropped 50% in back to back years!). Highest personal non-mortgage debt on earth, 2 of the most over values housing markets in Vancouver and Toronto., the most indebted sub borrowing jurisdiction in Ontario.

In short, Canada is in deep trouble. Now, we have separatist sentiment growing in Quebec AND Alberta/Saskatchewan. The PM was chosen from basically 2 provinces, while our covert police destroy civil liberties to ensure their low performing kids get the "nice jobs".

Canada, is by definition, sadly, a shytehole. Imagine we didn't have a free trade agreement while beside the largest, highest consuming economy on earth? We'd have the GDP of Chad.

Spectacle and illusion, it's the Reality America Show.

Neoliberal economic policy is failing widely, yeah.

This isn't neoliberalism, it's the Canadian socialist system, embraced by all sides of the aisle. All politicians looking the other way as the covert police and their families make off with opportunity while stifling that of high performers who they destroy at a young age, or, don't "approve" of. Sort of like the Chinese Social Credit System.

This is what everyone missed about socialism when criticizing it. It is FAR from just an economic system, I assure you.

What authoritarian power structure ever wanted fair anything? That has never been a goal here, I assure you.

All very interesting, but this thread isn't about Canada. This forum isn't about Canada. You remind me of someone who never talks about anything but how his spouse is mean to him. Everybody is sorry you are feeling so unappreciated, but there is nothing any of us can do to help you, and nobody really cares about your personal problems anyway. Hire a therapist to talk to.

Haha. I like that. However, hopefully people like me will educate you so that you DON'T become like Canada. I don't need a therapist to expose facts.

Even Comey was smart enough to say publicly that if Trump wins in 2020 he is headed to New Zealand, surprisingly not "just like us Canada". He is informed enough to know we are not like you. However, some want you to become more like us, and they will be the powerful while you are the powerless.

Now that the investigation is wrapping up, the Intelligence committee can submit their findings (as if they were a Special Prosecutor) and the House can begin impeachment hearings.

The House is not a Special Prosecutor. Mueller was, as was Ken Starr. Their reports could be used as a basis for impeachment. Since the Meuller Report did not include findings of impeachable offenses, Nancy Pelosi took it upon herself to assign Adam Schiff to be a defacto Special Prosecutor.

Given the fact that he is a notorious liar and possible fact witness in subsequent proceedings, this investigation smacks of Inquisition tactics, where secretly coerced "confessions" were obtained before trial and any later repudiations were considered additional evidence of guilt.

Now that such "evidence" has been manufactured by Schiff, the show trial may begin. Isn't that a wonderful precedent?

again, the GOP are useless. The Senate can stop this. where are they? interview Schitt's
