Back when the US really was the most powerful nation on earth it could afford to basically give out 'handouts' to countries that were struggling know full well these numerous countries getting the better part of the deal.
Then something happened and the US economy started sliding and now we find ourselves still giving 'handouts' in the form of trade deals which disadvantage the US. President Trump has put the lid on the cookie jar and these countries don't like it.
