House Bill to Lower Insulin Costs PASSES - 193 GOPers Voted AGAINST it - Just 12 Voted FOR

Computers are things you can choose to buy or not. Insulin is not.

If the price of a computer is too high, people don't buy them.

If Insulin prices are high, people do not have the option of just not buying it.
A ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting fixes insulin problems.

Irrelevant.

You pull examples that are not related to the core problem and then bitch about something unrelated entirely.

It is simply a FACT that the insulin market here is not a free market. Period. It is not even remotely related to the idea of free market. You are just using this example to bitch about something you don't like that is unrelated.

If you want to complain about a free market, fine. HOWEVER, this is NOT a valid point in THIS example.

Again, I relate this to complaining that democracy is a shitty system because an authoritarian like Putin is killing people. The two have nothing to do with each other.

The SOLE reason insulin is overpriced here in this nation is because the government has protected the insulin drug companies from competition thereby REMOVING the product from the free market and placing it in a controlled market. They ALSO do not have price controls.

Which is rather nonsensical if you are protecting a monopoly. You want more government controls, I would prefer a system that opened the market up. All of that is irrelevant to the outright LIE that this is a 'free market' problem. There is no free market for this product.

I did NOT create the example. I replied to your example.

The measure would cap insulin costs at $35 a month for consumers enrolled in both private health insurance plans and Medicare. Currently, based on the patient’s condition and choice of treatments, costs can range from $334 to $1,000 a month for insulin, according to a 2020 Kaiser Family Foundation report.

This is a really good bill. If you know any Diabetics - it is a very expensive and unfair lifestyle. Those poor people pay a truckload for treatment. Anything to help their burden is great.

193 GOPers voted against it of course. Thoughts?
Sadly because Xiden killed the Trump era plan to cut cost via medicare...this was needed...but frankly, the US Congress passing laws with price controls is not the solution. Biden Administration Rescinds Trump Administration Insulin Pricing Rule

The solution was how Trump had the HHS work with drug companies directly.

But demafasist got to be fascist

That's there's ever been any "free market" or "free market capitalism" here has always been conservative/libertarian fantasy and remains in no way restricted to Democrats or Republicans.

Yes, you did. You referred to other countries controlled markets and then claimed that those examples showed that our controlled marked 'could not be' the problem.

Yes, free markets exist.

A free market is just like a democracy or a socialist system, they do not need to exist in a pure form to exist at all. There are MANY free markets across many nations. There is no such thing as a pure, perfect system because we live in the real world but that does not support the asinine claim that free markets do not exist at all.

Not in all cases.

That is just a fact.
In some cases, the damage has been done beyond repair but they all lead back to a high carb diet with constant insulin spikes, causing insulin resistance which damages the pancreas and other organs.

In other words, sugar is the devil.

You used computers as an example of how things would work. Obviously you no longer believe that.

And why is direct interference in markets fine and dandy for the president, a singular person that power is consolidated in, but not okay for congress where there is at least some diffusion of power....

This is why people laugh at the right when they claim to be for smaller government.

Also irrelevant.

The fact is your 'diet' solution is not an overall solution.

So now you are pretending that you did not use that argument?

No, I used computers as an example of how pathetic your example was. You cannot wave in the ge4neral direction of another market and then claim that supports a specific contention in a specific case without even hinting at why, how or what the function is.
