How Much is to much

My electric rates are as low as I recall since I've been on my own. Shopping around has paid off.

What has gone up is the price of Nutella; about 9 dollars a jar now.

With everything either being in short supply or prices going up and up. Energy products in short supply. regulations on everything and now more on the trucking industry. No jobs, etc. Where is this country headed?

Regulations on the trucking industry will force us to increase the amount of miles/gallon for trucks. So at the end of the day the same benefits of the increase in car mileage will be seen with trucks. ;)

Short supply? We have tons of supplies and space even more. Tell me what is in short supply?

COMMON SENSE.Very short supply.

It'll begin to bite when independent truckers hang up the keys.

The ever-creeping federal mandates on mileage and emissions are causing independents to park their rigs. But they're not buying new ones because the costs (so much driven by all the federally mandated "improvements) are so great that there's no way to make a living.

Once the independents are gone you'll see either food and other commodity shortages or a few big firms dominating the trucking business and pegging their prices where they damn well please.

Either way and no matter what the regime calls it, it'll be inflation.
One more nail in Americas coffin. obama will kill America , thats his goal.

Wow. Here I thought I was making a funny about your working for Palin. Now there is no doubt. What are you doing, taking old Nazi speeches, changing some words around to apply to modern day American issues? Your rhetoric is antiquated.

How Nazis used fear tactics like claiming how things were in "short supply" to win public support:

everything in short supply - Google Search

And "over regulation"

And "where the country's headed"

Trouble with using ancient political strategy, is after the Nazis tried it you just look like Nazis all over again.

OMG, I had toilet paper on the shopping list this morning and found only a few packages left on the shelves and those were the ones with only two rolls each. Unit price was incredible (by comparison to the 12 or 24 roll packages of which there were none). Still, had to buy one since I was near out of TP and cancelled the print edition newspaper subscription a couple of years ago.

You might want to grab some extra rolls today because this is going to spread!

Contrary to what partisan hacks have been telling you, energy prices have not been going up any faster than other prices.

The price of eggs has risen faster than the price of electricity.

The electricity industry itself says the same thing:
As with virtually all other goods, the price of electricity has risen over the years. Underlying factors affecting this upward trend include higher prices for generating fuel (e.g. coal), the need for new infrastructure, and environmental concerns. Compared to other goods, the increase in electricity prices has been relatively low.

but but but someone told him that Obama wanted to take your plugs out your wall or "change america" or something something socialist.

But...but...but:

the price of eggs has more than doubled in the past 5 years?

I spend around $75 per month on electricity, the same amount I spent five years ago.

Here is the chart for unleaded gasoline:

$1.79 in 2009 is $1.94 now. So unleaded gas has outpaced inflation considerably.

There have been several topics in the past few weeks claiming electricity prices have "soared" and "skyrocketed" due to federal regulations. This is a bogus meme, as I have just shown.

Since regulations have not resulted in higher electricity prices, and that industry has seen more regulatory changes than the oil industry, then there is obviously some other mechanism behind the rise in unleaded gas prices. And we are still a long way from the $4.09 gas price seen in the last days of the previous Administration.

Regulations have very little to do with gasoline prices. It's all about supply and demand, and it is a world market. Demand continues to increase as China, India, Brazil, and a number of other countries continue to increase the number of drivers. China now sells more new cars than the US. While demand for gasoline has actually dropped slightly in the US, it has increased dramatically worldwide.

Not for me! In 21 months my utility bill has increased by 40%!!!
I moved into my current residence and after one full month my bill was $45.16 in 2012
For the same month but one year later 2013 the bill was $78.41 an increase of 42%
This month my bill ins $231.55!
Average for first 12 months per month:$88.80
Average for then next 8 months per month $142.32
An increase of nearly 40%
AGAIN remind you what OBAMA said RATHER then work towards LoWERING COSTS he promised the opposite
and you idiots that voted for him here is the result! "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket"

I've been in the same place for almost six years. The only thing that is going to be higher this year is my gas bill, but that is because of the extremely cold winter.

Obama's goons know what they are doing....their regulations and rulings against industries has increased costs which get passed on to consumers. The end goal is to make the people revolt against private industry calling for the GOV to step in and take over everything.

Obamacare costs drive up the price of goods and services in every industry. Increasing minimum wages ends up trickling across the entire economy higher costs and prices.

Meanwhile stupid democrap followers complain about taxes on goods and prices on goods/services going up every year as if liberals in DC had nothing to do with it.
