Two African-Americans -- Ella Jones and Wesley Bell -- were elected to the Ferguson City Council on Tuesday, meaning three of the six council members are black.

Do you think how much will change in Ferguson after recent events and after elections in particular?
To my mind status quo is beyond belief. Protests like this cannot just fade away. People have been killed and Ferguson population really wants some change. The question is whether this change will be positive or not?
Either it will become slightly better or, what is more likely, things will get worse. The degree of hatred is so high whites and blacks will possibly never treat each other as equals. Blacks will believe whites are oppressors not being able to get rid of racial prejudice. Whites will think blacks are playing victims once again. Actually it happens all around the country already and Ferguson is just another milestone in a phantom standoff.

The blacks on the council will look the other way when the looting and burning of businesses take place. Nothing will get done in council...just arguing.

Whatever whites remain in Ferguson should leave. Why they would still be there now is incomprehensible. Let Ferguson die.

It's already changed quite a bit. Judges, city manger, police chief, officers have resigned. The problems with the criminal justice system have been exposed and with representation more in line with the population demographic, it is more likely at least that it will remain less biased.
I always thought the mayor needed to go as well. He seemed either clueless or dishonest throughout the protests. Only time will tell.
