Huckabee rips critics of 'libido' comment...

What is wrong with birth control? It isn't like your party or the church is going to stop sex.

Don't make me fucking laugh.

Again, for the millionth time, it's not birth control that's the problem. It's forcing other people to pay for the birth control that's the problem.
i dont see you crying about smokers or fat people...

Smokers aren't demanding the tax payers or their employers pay for their ciggarettes are they? Nor are fat people demanding the tax payers or their employers pay for their happy meals.

See??

They just keep repeating this same lie and more and more idiot bobble heads believe it.

Then stop with the straw man and we won't have to keep debunking it.

It's medicine.

Insurance companies pay for Viagra. Why aren't wingnuts convulsing over that?

Most woman aren't Mormon or Evangelical. They're woman that like to fuck and be able to make their own choices.

No one is stopping them from being able to make their own choices. But why should the rest of us pay for those choices?

They pay for people's blood pressure medicine, too.

Why should I have to pay for that? I don't have high blood pressure!1!!ZOMG!!

Dumbass liberals love and perpetuate governmental dependence, conservatives not nearly so much. Simple, libs get their power from making people dependent on the government.

Yanno, it's people like you begging the government to regulate abortion and birth control, yet you wine at them for wanting to regulate abortion and birth control, make up your freaking mind.

Here's a novel idea: keep the government out of women's sex lives.

Who ARE you and what did you do with knee jerk ignorant child, Templar Kormac??

You petulant child.

Yeah you heard me. I am a libertarian, contrary to popular belief. But it's hypocritical for liberals to want to keep the government out of women's sex lives, but beg and plead with them to regulate abortion and contraception with taxpayer money.

Again the pretense by the woman-hating lefties that what was said was something other than what was said.

Nobody said there was anything wrong with birth control.

Two journalists had to clarify their statements because they misrepresented what was said.

What was said, again, is that DEMOCRATS maintain that women cannot control themselves.

And that is exactly what democrats do.

I know this is a nice try, but this is another bible thumping asshole republican trying to tell other people how to live because he hadn't seen his dick in years under that spare tire.

For the record, it isn't a matter of government providing birth control, it's a matter of birth control being a sensible part of reproductive health.

It would be nice if the politicians stopped pretending they were doctors.

right, so thats why the obama admin means to grind the Little Sisters of the Poor under their boot, they will conform or.....go broke doing so, nice. wanna square that circle for me?

Doesn't bother me a bit. Religious charities are bullshit, anyway. Ever see the nice mansions the Bishops live in?

They can provide birth control to their employees, or they can go out of business.

I really don't care which.

Here's a novel idea. Let's let the medical decisions be made by Doctors, and the Religious decisions be made by Pastors.

That would seem pretty fucking sensible.

Republicans should buy a clue. There are many women in this country who prefer being sexually out of control. Yes they are capable of controlling themselves and not flopping their legs open on demand. They just prefer not exercising that control. They also want their sex lives subsidized by the government. The public should pay for birth control, abortions and STD treatment. It is impossible to educate these women as to the responibility they have to their bodies. It will never happen. The issue needs to be cut loose. The responsible public should be informed of how much such irresponsibility is costing and reminded of it daily.

Well, there are a lot of women in this nation that are not dried up old prunes, and enjoy a good romp in the hay. Birth control has been a godsend in many ways. For one, perhaps the most important, it allows parents to dicide when they are going to have children, and time that with their financial situation. Secondly, for those that are sexually active and responsible, no unplanned and unwanted children.

As for sex lives being subsidized by the government, consider the cost of contraceptives as opposed to the cost of support for children. Somewhere in the realm of a 1 to 100,000 ratio.

Well, that's a good question.

How are you being forced?

The cost of one F-22 Fighter, which is a worthless piece of crap, is probably more than the entire cost of the subsidy to Planned Parenthood. Why should I be forced to pay for that?

Or to put it another way. Why am I being forced to pay for the lung cancer treatment of smokers in a VA hospital? They made their own choice to smoke. Seems pretty unfair you are asking me to pay for it.

I mean, if you want to go the whole moral turpitude route, most of what kills us is due to lifestyle choices- Food, Drink, Smoking. I mean, if you want to go the "moral" route, let's go there.

Or not. Wouldn't want to give you guys any more bad ideas.

"“I'm always flattered when people on the far left manufacture a new version of being ‘offended,’” Huckabee told me. “They can be quite creative in finding something that hurts their feelings.”

" “If the Democrats want to insult women by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it.”

"He added: "Our party stands for the recognition of the equality of women and the capacity of women. That’s not a war on them, it’s a war for them.”

"NBC’s Kasie Hunt and CNN’s Dana Bash, who “erroneously tweeted” his remarks “to mean the polar opposite” and had to correct the tweets “because they so totally blew it…and now it’s a scandal?”

"On Twitter, Hunt and Bash both presented the comments about “Uncle Sugar” and “libido” as Huckabee’s view. About half an hour later, Hunt wrote: “To be clear: Huck says DEMS believe ‘helpless without Uncle Sugar”…”

"Bash wrote, “2b clear MikeHuckabee said DEMS insult women…”

They had to admit they deliberately misrepresented his statement.

"...Dems have put a laser like focus on government funded birth control and given it more attention than cancer drugs.”

Huckabee rips critics of ?libido? comments | Fox News

Given the other Republican Governors - current and former - either indicted or under investigation who sought higher office, Huckabee came out of the kitchen smelling another run for the oval office. Expect him to go on a crash diet (and maybe that will keep the pizza and his feet out of his mouth).

Again, we have another case of a "Freedom" loving conservative turning into a sexual Stalinist.

I'm just wondering how you "make" someone be responsible?

I also have to ask the question, do you think that a woman who is married but she and her husband can't afford kids right now because they are paying off years of student loans, should be denied birth control on "Moral" grounds?

Or do you think they should just abstain from sex for the first couple years of their marriage?

No one is denying women birth control. Access to birth control is wide spread, easily available, and inexpensive.

And it should be covered under your medical plan, even if your employer is a religious nutjob.

Glad to see we are all in agreement here.

Sorry, no agreement.

It's the employer's medical plan not your medical plan. If you don't like it you don't have to enroll in the plan, you can get your own plan.

Many employers pay a stipend to employees who don't enroll in their plan.

Or you can buy your own birth control.

Why do we have to pay for the police, fire and EMT's who respond to emergencies at religious facilities. Let them pay property taxes too.

Many employers don't pay that stipend. Not to mention it is damn near impossible to get a good plan on your own... which is why so many are being cancelled after ACA came into effect and told them they couldn't sell shit plans anymore.

And a lot of those employers aren't upfront about what their policies do and don't cover.

My health should not be held hostage because my employer is a religious whackjob.

OMG!!!!! You have one of those evil employers who is holding a gun to your head, forcing you to work for him and forcing you to take the company's health plan.

I didn't realize that. Do you want me to call 911 for you?

Most employers are evil.

But that's not my point, guy.

Let's get real, in this economy, most of us are lucky to have jobs, thanks to your Boy Bush fucking it up for everyone.

Now, because unlike EVERY CIVILIZED COUNTRY in the world, we make people work for their health coverage, we end up having people held hostage to crooked insurance companies and crazy employers.

No one should be denied health care becuase their boss believes in a Magic Sky Man.

They know. They also know that Huckabee is 100 percent correct...they do hate women....and that they do promote state supervision of reproduction....

Which is why the need for an artificial construct..they have to create a different discussion in order to *win* the argument.

You wingnuts seem to put an awful lot of stock into what Huckabee spews. I think he's kind of a hasbeen even at Republican standards.
