Seriously dude.....go click on the link in post # 1 if you doubt that a crowd THAT :eek: size isnt going to be heard!!!! These poor folks stood out in the freezing cold to protest the government stand on climate change!!

Since you provide nothing to indicate scale your question is worthless.

When I was a kid we built a 10 foot high snow man in my front yard. I don't see the relevance.

Uh huh yes

Consensus on what exactly?

That human activity effects climate?

I never disagreed with that.

I disagree with the catastrophic alarmist predictions based on computer models. Sorry but it's too easy to manipulate the data to force results.

We have no idea what will happen if the earth is a couple degrees warmer. My bet is that we'll all be just fine.

scientific consensus is that Earth is warmer and man is contributing

Man is changing the weather? Go figure. :cuckoo:

Swiss Re Tallies Huge Costs of Climate Inaction | DeSmogBlog

The world’s largest insurers are tallying the costs of climate inaction, and the numbers are staggering.

Swiss Re announced recently that total economic losses in 2012 from “natural catastrophes and man-made disasters” -- primarily weather events -- should reach roughly $140 billion. Over 11,000 lives were lost due to the so-called “natural catastrophes” alone.

According to the Swiss Re report, “Natural and man-made catastrophes in 2012,” the top five insured loss events are all in the U.S.

“Hurricane Sandy is the largest Atlantic hurricane on record in terms of wind span. This record storm surge caused widespread flooding and damage to a densely populated area on the East Coast of the U.S. It also led to the worst power outage caused by a natural catastrophe in the history of the U.S.”

But Sandy wasn’t the only event to blame. According to the report, “extremely dry weather conditions and limited snowfall in the U.S. led to one of the worst droughts in recent decades, affecting more than half of the country. Drought-related agricultural losses are likely to reach approximately $11 billion, including pay-outs from federal assistance programs.

North America most affected by increase in weather-related natural catastrophes | Munich Re

For the period concerned – 1980 to 2011 – the overall loss burden from weather catastrophes was US$ 1,060bn (in 2011 values). The insured losses amounted to US$ 510bn, and some 30,000 people lost their lives due to weather catastrophes in North America during this time frame. With US$ 62.2bn insured losses and overall losses of US$ 125bn (in original values) Hurricane Katrina in 2005 was the costliest event ever recorded in the US. Katrina was also the deadliest single storm event, claiming 1,322 lives.

The study was prepared in order to support underwriters and clients in North America, the world’s largest insurance and reinsurance market. Using its NatCatSERVICE – with more than 30,000 records the most comprehensive loss data base for natural catastrophes – Munich Re analyzes the frequency and loss trends of different perils from an insurance perspective. The North American continent is exposed to every type of hazardous weather peril – tropical cyclone, thunderstorm, winter storm, tornado, wildfire, drought and flood. One reason for this is that there is no mountain range running east to west that separates hot from cold air.

Nowhere in the world is the rising number of natural catastrophes more evident than in North America. The study shows a nearly quintupled number of weather-related loss events in North America for the past three decades, compared with an increase factor of 4 in Asia, 2.5 in Africa, 2 in Europe and 1.5 in South America. Anthropogenic climate change is believed to contribute to this trend, though it influences various perils in different ways. Climate change particularly affects formation of heat-waves, droughts, intense precipitation events, and in the long run most probably also tropical cyclone intensity. The view that weather extremes are becoming more frequent and intense in various regions due to global warming is in keeping with current scientific findings, as set out in the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as well as in the special report on weather extremes and disasters (SREX). Up to now, however, the increasing losses caused by weather related natural catastrophes have been primarily driven by socio-economic factors, such as population growth, urban sprawl and increasing wealth.

And here is how the declining ice in the Arctic is causing the extreme weather in the US and elsewhere.

I saw some photos of that big protest....must have been a hundred or so of them out there. Freezing to death. The gore effect strikes again.

These are people with passion indeed SSDD........some of them so insensed, looks like thier eyes are popping out!!!

Heres another link of photo's from the protest >>> Thousands Protest Global Warming | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Didnt quite know these people had this level of organization.

Great photo. Those guys look smarter than the typical gathering of libs. I was impressed. And you are right...they looked highly organized.

SSDD.....did a little research and did find this photo of the demonstration..............

A bit small but you get an idea of the magnitude of this protest.

Rolling Thunder is on the site that endorses these guys..........

There is no "threat", Chicken Little.

Click the link asshole...........look how many show up to bring attention to the magnitude of the big snowstorms we are seeing now???

Look at your calendar, dude. It's WINTER!!! It always snows in the winter. And fwiw, I saw snows like this when I was a kid in grade school, and that was over 50 years ago.

Warmists told us not so long ago that snow would be a thing of the past...till that prediction didn't pan out then they told us that we would get warm snow...those people don't look warm to me.
